Speaking of NIL deals, we saw Olu driving yesterday at the intersection by Beaver Stadium. Those Inch cars stand out and I can't imagine the players love that. Comes with the territory I guess.
Ha. This reminded me of the time that a big time recruit at our school had four or five of the top coaches in the country come to watch him play. As assistant A.D. I would walk around at halftime and bring some food and drinks to all the officials, my ticket, people, security, etc. I remember bringing a cheeseburger and a bottle of water to a current Division I head coach making over $5 million a year And asking if he wanted it. He laughed and said thank you but I’ll walk over to the concession stand and get something If I need it, I don’t need the NCAA getting on me for you giving me a free bottle of water.

Did you not know the rules, or were you actively trying to entice the coach into a recruiting violation?Ha. Thread killer attacks yet again.Did you not know the rules, or were you actively trying to entice the coach into a recruiting violation?
Well it’s the dream school of 60% of 9th grade boys with a hankie in their hand …LOL childhood dream school after all this.

I guess if they were "real and guaranteed" the kid wouldn't have transferred out of Florida. Are these amounts for real? Are they guaranteed? The NFL minimum salary is $705,000. This is bizarre. Its just college football, not the NFL. Who is funding this stuff? It does not seem to make any sense economically.

Are these "NIL contracts" really enforceable contracts at all?I don't get why there isn't any lawsuit from the player; he signed the contract in good faith - can one party cancel a contract before payment in Florida? A quick check says a contract need an offer, acceptance, and terms and conditions. Seems like all of those were in place here (unless the offering party never signed?).....
But Micah doesn't have to live in GainesvilleAre these "NIL contracts" really enforceable contracts at all?
Rashada has fewer than 15,000 Twitter followers. He's never played a down of college football. He's not a starter on a college team. Yet, someone wants to pay him the following NIL $ for the following work:
$500,000 up front payment
$3 million as a freshman
$3.5 million as a sophomore
$4.5 million as a junior
$2.35 million as a senior
TOTAL: $13.8 million
His obligations are to:
Live in Gainesville
Make 1 branded Tweet per month and 1 branded Instagram post per month
Do 8 fan events per year
Sign 15 autographs per year
By way of comparison, Micah Parsons signed a 4 year, $17 million contract with the Cowboys. He has endorsement deals but I couldn't find money details.
Article says that the contract can be terminated by the collective at any time for no reason. However, the collective missed its first payment of $500k before the contract was terminated. Presumably Rashada could sue for that, but what's the point of suing an entity that has no money.I don't get why there isn't any lawsuit from the player; he signed the contract in good faith - can one party cancel a contract before payment in Florida? From what little I know of these collectives, many (if not most, if not all) are run by wannabees who will wind up as neverwuzzes.
