This guy posted these pics on BDJ.com. I thought it was pretty cool.

they were currently working on a master plan for athletic facilities. Anyone have any idea of a time table on this?

A master plan...what a concept.

Scoreboard needs to be on top to of the M club. Otherwise, pretty good.

Are we gonna leave it concrete gray? /rimshot

I like the outside facade. However, I think the lower level is short sighted. Go ahead and build the lower level equal height to the east and west lower level. You don't have to make it all bleacher seating but at least fill in the corners and make it look more symmetrical. </p>

Makes for a better look and probably helps with sound. Not to mention the corners make a great place for visiting fans to be seated in, see Jordan Hare Stadium. Although at this point, I would be thrilled with any expansion.

Kiddin. I'd love to see GB's plan. I'm sure it's top notch. And I'm sure it doesn't involve any mammoth punctuation marks.

there are projects completed that aren't on there....there are 100 buildings on the site of the old intramural fields. I am going under the assumption that the athl master plan will be something attainable. I've always viewed that campus master plan as window dressing and nothing taken to actual guide expansion.

...master plans. I've seen a few of them and almost none of them were accurate. The master plan is dictated more by money and circumstances than somebody's 20 year vision. Although its good to have the vision.

Much of it is horizontal sections parallel to the ground. I can't figure out what's seating and what is something else. And the something else part - if its not seating what is it because there's a lot of it.

I hope those are not the plans for Davis Wade Stadium. I surely they can come up with something much better than that. If not, then I know a few people who can.

expansion of Davis-Wade Stadium....you can write that down and go back and look at it one of these days after it happens.

Again, it's not finished and i think based on what i've already heard (and i agree with them) the finished product will be quite nice and will give us a rather "unique" addition to a stadium that needs some character to it. It will allow for more seats, but again, it will be unique.

Next week i will update these links and i will post again with more images and more detail. Maybe even a flash movie of it.

Alabama's recent expansion.

It'll be interesting to see what Bryne does with an expansion. If he adds just regular seats, or if he adds the sky boxes and premium seating.

Premium seating would bring in more $$$ over the long haul. Especially if the demand is there.

Premium seating would be the whole reason why an addition is added, we cant fill the regular seats as is, but there is a waiting list on club seats, and im guessing skyboxes again.
No way you build just regular seats.

The only additions will be premium seats, i.e., skyboxes and club level seats. That's where the money is, and that's what people will buy. That's why there's a waiting list for the club level, and we cannot give away seats on the 10- and 15-yard line.

Say we begin to have sustained improvement/success and are consistently in the top third of the conference and excitement and enthusiasm is at an all-time high. Hell, let's dream big and throw a national championship in the mix. How many seats could we regularly fill up each weekend without relying on a 10,000 traveling party from our opponents? 65-70k? Is that too few/too many?

First, a national championship in football? That's not dreaming big, that's being delusional.

Secondly, that helmet and jersey are absolutely hideous. I will say this though, in true State fashion the maroon on the helmet and jersey don't exactly match.
