IMO this is Max Browne 2.0 without the 5* pedigree. Personally I don’t think think you want someone else’s sloppy seconds.

Probably a decent kid and a solid pick-up for Pitt. I seem to recall reading a couple months ago about the draw of Southern CA, particularly vs. PA. The weather, the surrounding talent pool, NIL potential, easier path to the playoffs. That must only apply to coaches.

Coach Narduzzi has been the butt of much criticism on this board. But I must admit, he seems to have Pitt headed in the right direction. He may not be the recruiter that coach Franklin is but he seems to get the most out of his roster.

It applies to players too - just not ones who aren’t willing to sit because they’ve been jumped on the depth chart.

And players who want to play. He wasn't in USC's plans. He'll be the starter in an offensive system that just had the best passing season in program history. Good for him.

Helps when you have no morals to hold you back.

Sloppy seconds? This kid reportedly threw for 3500 yards, with 30 TD's and 9 INT's as a freshman. This kid reportedly has a girl friend on the pitt women's soccer team, but gotta give Duzzy credit in his willingness to improve his team. He has 4 other scholarship QB's returning (for the moment, anyway) yet he saw a QB that he believes will make his team better and went and got him.

Duzzy can make a living in the portal as long as he can keep winning, which is not that tall of a task in the ACC.

And Duzzy also has already gotten a transfer OT from oh-high-ya. Wonder if PSU could use a portal OT..........

Take him over our guy, Old Eyeblack McHappyfeet, any day of the week
But of course you would. Just for the record, Slovis vs. Clifford comparisons and where those stats ranked nationally this year:

Slovis: 2153 yards (79th); 11 TDs (87th) and 8 Int's (70th)

Clifford: 2912 (34th) 20 TDs (38th) 6 Int's (33rd).

But let's not let facts get in the way of a narrative or agenda huh?

Clifford is turrible.

Pitt had a really good '21 season, but they should be 13-0. The loss to Western Michigan is bad. Worse than our loss to Illinois no matter how you look at it. With Clemson down, ACC is just bad.

2020 - 6-5
2019 - 8-5
2018 - 7-7
2017 - 5-7
2016 - 8-5

If they win double digits again in '22, you may be on to something. Right now, this season is an outlier with a 6th year QB and 12 more super seniors.

Slovis was injured in 2021 and played fewer games this year . In 6 games in 2020 17 tds, 7 ints 1,900 yds. 2019 30 tds , 9 ints, 3,500 yards 71percent completions. Not too bad.

if he is that good, why wouldn't he stay at USC? with Riley, isn't that a far better situation than Pitt? going across the country to what is traditionally a 500 team in a weaker conference than PAC.

also, if Narduzzi is this good, why wouldn't he have gone to MSU by now? that was always the logic, he would succeed Dantonio, if he was having success at Pitt. Sparty still considered a much better job than Pitt.

It was reported that Slovis' girlfriend is at Pitt. And Sovis will face less talented competition at Pitt as compared to USC regarding holding onto a starting QB job. And Picket is proof that a QB can build an NFL resume by getting on the field, even at pitt, but he can't build an NFL resume on the bench at USC....

Not sure what you mean by "this good". He is hitting the portal in an effort to improve his chances to win, and he took a QB even though he has 4 returning QB's on his roster, so he is not afraid to upset the applecart in an effort to better his team. Duzzy's record at pitt, even with this season's 10 win season, does not jump off the chart to make his a prime candidate for a top 20 opening. And who knows what terms he left MSU on. Or he could just be happy at Pitt, where he won't likely get fired for 6-6 seasons like he might somewhere else.

Well, when you don't play anybody and your 5th year QB evolved into a damn good QB, you can look pretty good for one year.

Hell, lightening struck for Harbaugh this year.

What would Pitt's record be if they had PSU's schedule? Think about that one.

He has a nice deep ball, decent accuracy and a quick release. How the heck Pitt land this kid?
