the reason that the Red Sox hadn't won the World Series since 1918- this was pre- 2004- was not because they sold off Babe Ruth. It was because of poor management.

Come to St. Louis and win a couple rings with the best first baseman ever after he resigns and La Russa retires.

That's the most logical place right now.

I bet Ken Williams is glad to have the Ozzie Guillen sideshow gone- I know I would be.

where does he go? i've always enjoyed him.<div>watching sports center earlier, i think it was peter gammonds, but someone said that the sox may be the only team that could lure larussa away. personally don't see that being a good fit. he could turn the pitching staff around for sure but there are too many 'stars' that he would have to deal with in that club house.</div>

if that happens. He's very active in the community in St. Louis.

If LaRussa left for the White Sox, Francona would probably end up with the Cardinals. I would be OK with that.

LaRussa can deal with stars- or they will be traded away.

What's kind of funny about LaRussa and the White Sox- he was fired by Hawk Harrelson- the guy that does the White Sox play by play. He was the GM for a year, and nearly ruined the team. Also, when the White Sox hired LaRussa, he replaced Don Kessinger, who later would be the baseball coach at Ole Miss. I think the A's hired LaRussa something like three weeks later.
