They talked and negotiated for a month last year right?(Some thanks to the state legislative involvement)
This year’s performance and outcome had to be discussed for retaining and extension right?

I don’t think Frank knows it’s over. He probably knows it should be over. We know it should be over. But do we know it’s over? Big difference. Personally, I think he’s here for another year UNLESS he does the Mike White route and bolts for another job to reset the time.

Question for this thread ? But why does he come back ?
There is no upside. Is anyone out there truly steeped in the belief that one more year and FM is going to somehow transform this team as a consistent tournament contender ?

To a sizeable cadre of forum and Internet fans, it does not seem to matter.

I just wonder where they all are on game day at the CLA. It makes no sense.

Why does he come back? The same reason he is still here. Mediocrity is acceptable for the folks making the decisions.

Who do you think would offer him a job?

Honestly do any of you really think things will be different if he comes back with GG? Even if things are good with GG and he leaves after one year, then what changes after that?

When does GG decide? If he picks us then Frank gets at least another year.
Not calling you out directly, but this is the most inane reason to retain FM one more year.
To think the powers that be are in suspension of their decision as to who will be the steward of the MBB team based upon the whimsy of a 17 year old as to whether he may or may not enroll, and then after one year may or may not leave to either enter the draft or the transfer portal.

60-40 he's back.
Disastrous if he comes back. Fan apathy is at/near an all-time low. The administration will bring him back for next season, so that we have to hear him complain again about fans not showing up to colonial to watch bad basketball. Great recipe for success.

Just read that Tanner is thinking about a huge raise and contract that Frank Martin can’t turn down- due to rumors he may leave for Kansas State! Hurry Ray! Stop thinking about it and DO IT! We must keep Frank!

Frank can come back if several conditions are met. Stevenson, Jermaine, Bryant, Wilson and Gray must all come back. Reese if he has any eligibility. Also, he must sign the top recrui. Lastly, AJ Wilson and Brandon need to play a game of one on one to see who gets the right to play more. My money is on AJ. And lastly he should not be allowed to play his son more than 3 minutes in any game.

He still has a decent rep in the coaching community. He could go to a mid-major and do just fine. Frank has to go. He won’t succeed here. But whoever we get next has a very difficult task ahead of him. Like it or not, Frank has been our most successful coach since at least Eddie Fogler. His SEC record is much better than any coach in our history.

I believe Martin is a better coach than Mike White that just got hired by UGA. Difference is Martin has a really tough job, and White was handed the keys to one of the best programs in America. If he wanted out and started putting his name out there, somebody would probably hire him.
