Saturday (4/5) was the birthday of the late, great, Ronnie White. He was a co-founder of the Miracles (along with Smokey Robinson). He sang baritone for the group, and wrote many of their songs. To celebrate, a video of them before they were known as Smokey Robinson and the Miracles:

Oh, and why can't rock bands stay together forever Tom? I think we'd all be much happier.

Yeah, fans of the group were always frustrated that Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies couldn't stay together, and that reunions just didn't seem to last. It's a shame, as they really did make some great songs. I'd say there's little to no chance they'll get together now, as Hodgson and Davies ended their deal of sharing copyright proceeds with the rest of the band. When the other members sued, Davies reached a settlement with them, while Hodgson won in court, so I doubt there are good feelings amongst all the parties.

FWIW, I've seen Hodgson in concert in the past decade, and he gives a nice performance. It's almost like going to a Supertramp show.

50th Anniversary of Toys in the Attic classic album. Listened to a live version and it reminded me of being at the Spectrum , on the floor Nov. 1978. Tyler got hit in the face with a bottle less than a year after the M-80 in his face. I was 20-30 yards from the front of the stage. Steven goes off mid-song and all the lights come on. Joey Kramer said something like he's been hit, but we are checking it out, and we will come back on. Obviously, they never came back on stage. Then bottles, fireworks, and garbage rained down. It was a packed log jam and it seemed like forever to get out of there. Scary few minutes.

Sunday (4/6) is the birthday of Ralph Cooper. He wasn't a founding member of Air Supply, as they were somewhat of a never-ending cast of musicians. However, he was the drummer for them when they attained their greatest degree of success. To celebrate:
