front page WSJ article "Booster Collectives Shake Up Athlete Pay" written by Laine Higgins, one of their reporters. Was regarding the crowd funded "collectives" and how this was often not about NIL but pay for play. The one thing that was new in this article was that the university administrators were now coming together in opposition to the collectives, who are not really companies paying NIL for the player value. They have created a task force, which I had not heard of before, which is intended to rule on this matter with the intent of creating new rules that define what is within the rules. It stated that new guidelines could be issued in the next week. Since the writer was referencing NCAA rules, I am assuming that is where the new rules would come from, but that was not really spelled out. Again, this was not about stopping any player form obtaining NIL $$$ for their personal value = name, image and likeness of themselves.

some other items in the article included twin female BB players form Fresno ST transferring to Miami. They already have considerable market NIL value now, but apparently can increase it in Miami. Maybe they are also difference makers on the court to help the Miami WBB team. Also a lot about Kansas BB team getting paid NIL for tours - which seems like NIL as they have true NIL. However, one of their players is expected to have more NIL value at UK than going to the NBA.
