Yes, that's right. Minnesota says he could even make his debut later this month. Using waivers from Olympic redshirt plus the COVID year to return.

I'm curious about this. If he wasn't a student this semester (which seems likely with his tryouts with NFL teams), then I don't think he can wrestle this semester. I guess he could have been taking online classes, or been enrolled long after the semester into online classes; in time, I guess we'll learn the details.

I guess it depends on how the NCAA handles the seven/eight week sessions that many universities run concurrently with the full semester schedules. For example, Penn State’s second seven week sessions usually starts the third week of October.

So dumb lol. I don’t think Carter should be wrestling this year either. covid Eligibility screwed everything up.

What ever happened to 5 years to compete in 4 and the 5 year clock started at admission. I miss those traditional days.
The Covid waiver makes it seem like some of these guys have been around forever if they've also taken advantage of other waivers which were available to them. I can't fault them since they didn't make the rules. If the waiver is there, go for it if you want to keep competing.

If A J Ferrari is still eligible, why not Steveson? It's become near impossible to understand how the eligibility seems to go on with Covid, Olympic redshirt, regular redshirt and injuries.

Or we won’t learn them at all. Seems like a pretty easy can to kick down the road given today’s college athletic landscape.

There’s bound to be some rust there. As we know (well most sane people, not WWE fanatics), the WWE isn’t collegiate wrestling. Kerk has actually been wrestling the whole time Gable has been fake wrestling and focused on other things. Plus, Kerk has been continuously improving, not just with technique, but also with his strength and conditioning. I’m leaning Kerk in the rematch.

Didn't Stevenson just win one of the big freestyle tournaments within the last year?

He dominated the 2023 US Open / Final X, but chose not to compete in worlds where Parris won Bronze (I believe). So yeah fair to say that within that time frame he's still top 5 in the world in freestyle.

Well, the WWE experiment was a true cluster, and the NFL? That was just a pipe dream, he stood no chance.

I wish he had moved on from NCAA, but it really stings that he missed out on the Olympics and world cycles. Serious miscalculation, and quite unfortunate.

If Kerk had his head screwed on straight and wrestlers confidently, I give him a chance. However if his head is where it was vs Parris, not so much. Kerk seems to go through ebbs and flows mentally IMO, physically and athletically he has the tools.
