Here are my bourbon infused thoughts after tonight:<div>
</div><div>We're a 6-6 team. That won't be an underachievement. We entered the season with 4 question marks: (1) Do we have any LBs? (2) Do we have a complete OL? (3) Will we have a pass rusher? (4) Do we have a DC? I think we now know our LBs are worse than anyone expected. 17ing Cam Lawrence may be our best LB. I think we would have been ok, if paper thin, on OL. We'll never know b/c injuries have already shown us why it;s bad to be paper thin. We do not have a pass rusher. Out of 4 questions, the best answer for state is that maybe Wilson is a good DC but our talent is so bad he can't show it. Hard to complain if we go 6-6 taking those four factors into account. If tonight is really indicative of stat'es talent level, we may have to do something special to be uab and olemiss.</div><div>
</div><div>We'll probably be a 6-6 team for a couple of years. We need more talent. We'll see, but I'm not sure it's on campus right now.</div><div>
</div><div>I don't see any reason to think Mullen is not a very good offensive coach. We had several wtf series against auburn, although th e day was good overall for O. We laid an egg tonight on offense. But I haven't seen anything that can't be explained by a makeshift line. Hard to be productivewhen your line is in shambles.</div><div>
</div><div>We're still on the right path, just turning out to be a longer trip than we expected. What Mullen did his first two years was pretty ridiculous. If somebody could ahv econvinced him of how to play the recruiting game in MS, we'd probably be making the next step. As bad as we've looked this year, I don't see anything to make me think Mullen can't win big at state, if he starts recruiting competitively. </div><div>

except maybe about playing the Mississippi game in recruiting. We will get hammered if we do. The Bears pull every kind of crap in the book and get away with it. We all know we can't.What we have to do is change the game. How to do that? I don't know, but that 's what we have to do.

that we have had in the modern era at MSU. Jackie was and still is the man, but he was not the coach that Mullen is in my opinion. If Mullen had the talent on this team similar to what the Kang had during most of the 90's, we would be hell to deal with. Mullen is creative and he is a great motivator, players love him, I hope that he stays with us for a while.
