Yes, that oft asked question. Will be my parents and wife in town to see the Braves vs. Cards. My wife and I usually make the short 4 hour drive from Memphis to celebrate Cabin Fever with the fine beers of Schlafly every January. Outside of that we normally hang out around Morgan Street at night.

Edit: Any Help?

thing -- Mike Shannon's to eat, then Maggie O's to drink and watch games. I think I had a good time at Ozzie Smith's one time.

ETA: I bet Snoopdogg can help you with some other places.

I go to St. Louis at least once a year. I really like the Hill, which is the Italian section of town- between Kings Highway and Hampton Ave. Your wife will like it to, as far as restaurants. There is a restaurant there called Zia's that's pretty good. I think Jack Buck used to live in the Hill. Anyway, it's about five miles or so from the Arch.

The Hill has a website- http://www.shopthehill.com/businesses.htm

Hannegan's Pub is another restauant I like. It's in Leclede's Landing, and I think it's next to or across the street from Morgan St. Brewery. (I can't remember) There are several restaurants at the Landing like that.

If you are looking for something to do during the day, Union Station is a nice mall, and it has a Landry's in it. It's on Market St. and it's about a mile or so from Busch Stadium. Ted Drewe's Frozen Custard is good to- there are a couple of them in St. Louis.

Oh, yeah- I've heard that the Anheuser Busch Brewery tour is really good.

It just kind of depends on what you like. The zoo is good, I've heard that the city museum is good, if you like history the Courthouse is good and the museum under the Arch is really good. I swear that the Arch's pods that go up to the top look like Princess Leia's prison pod on the Death Star.

Mike Shannon's- I've heard mixed reviews about.

I recommend staying in a hotel near Busch Stadium if you're going to a game because the traffic before and after a game can be pretty bad.

I always stop at Lambert's in Sikeston, Mo. It's the original one, and it usually tides me over.

I don't know where it is, but the original "Blueberry Hill" is somewhere up there to. Don't know if there's much to see there, though.

Man, I hope I can go back again. I put myself in the playoff ticket lottery, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I've not been in St. Louis in a few years but Union Station was nice. I'd like to see some games at the new Busch sometime-- I've not been to one there yet-- I thought about it last year but decided against it.

Another option as far as hotels are concerned is to find a place near a Metrolink stop. I stayed at a hotel near the airport, took the shuttle to the airport and then the Metrolink to Busch. Nice and easy, and I didn't have to drive.

Playoffs are nice... I remember the one time I got playoff tickets (Game 5 of the 1990 ALCS and Game 5 of the World Series-- both in Oakland). Unfortunately both series were four-game sweeps.

We're going up for the Friday/Sunday games of the Cubs vs. Cardinals series in a week and a half. We couldn't get Saturday tickets, but it turns out that Schlafly is having their annual beer festival that day so we've definitely got something to hold us over.

Todd, as for the playoff tickets, is it too late to get into the lottery? NM, found it.

ETA: Found the playoff information. Now if only the Cards can clinch against the Cubs while I'm there, it would make the trip that much better.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. We have done most of the stuff listed and enjoyed it all. Zia's was great food and amazing prices. My folks have never been so we will have that on the list. We were playing with the idea of a short Six Flags visit on Sunday. Haven't been in a good 10-15 years. City Museum is wild and quite entertaining. Never have been to the Zoo so that may be the other option for Sunday. We are staying in the Hilton at the ballpark so we will be super close to everything. Shannon's The Outfield was a ton of fun after the game. Don't remember much about it other than that. Morgan Street has always been fun. Neither one of those places seemed like a good place to watch the game so we may try one of the others. Thanks again for the help.

It's pretty much within walking distance, and I've always had a good experience. Even better, they have parking. Mike Shannon's still has the parties before/during/after the games.

I would have recommended the Cardinals Hall of Fame, but I think they have it closed while they are moving it to Busch or the new Ballpark Village, if they ever can get that going.

for the free beer. ABT is good...also for the beer. Then on the way out of town, we stop at Schnuck's and load up on beer. Zia's is fantastic...so is Syberg's if you are in the mood for seafood. It's in a hotel past about two blocks from Union Station. Also, if you don't want to make the trip out to the Hill...Lombardo's is located in a Drury Inn behind Union Station. We are going up for the playoffs and are planning on hitting J. Bucks, Ozzie's, and we'll try Pujols Grill this time. Blueberry Hill is in the Loop section of the city closer to Washington University. It's decent.
