I'll take any positive recruiting news, but do these announcements even mean anything in the new college football world?

Point taken. But there's also having fun as long as we can.

But yeah, I won't count on him playing here till he reports to campus.

I think we all take commitments with a grain of salt these days.

I’d put just a tad more stock in this one than I would if he just made a statement on Twitter. A ceremony at the school seems a bit more legit. Not any more binding, of course.

It’s great news which we desperately needed in recruiting right now, but we will have to put together a respectable season to hold onto a recruit like him.

I know we see decommits on social medias but believe it or not once you get a player to commit to your school you have a high chance to keep him in the foil.

Odds are his commitment will stick, but in this era, it would not be the least bit surprising if he flips. There is a probably a correlation between how far in advance a guy commits and the likelihood of him flipping. Guys who commit a year or more out are far more likely to flip.

Maybe this can be some delayed payback for PSU stealing Bobby Engram.

Dude has run a 10.41 100m. A single, quick, lazy google told me Harbor's best is 10.16. Cyrus is pretty dang fast, and hopefully (assuming he sticks) he won't take 2yrs to actually be able to play WR.

I wonder what the stats say. I'm quite curious. My guess would be 85% retention after commitment.
Which is very high and I think it’s higher than that tbh. It’s just the decommits stick out a lot more than the ones that stick with their commitment

If the stats exist, I would want to see what they are for 4 and 5 star commitments vs. everybody else. My guess is the guys who get the most continued attention by big programs are much more likely to decommit than all of the others.
