This article makes it seems surprising that we aren't ranked. Why would anyone actually expect us to be?

I figured we'd get more votes than we have received, especially with the national exposure in the LSU game and how close we were to winning the game, and how a few questionable penalties and plays could have us at 4-0. Would it have surprised me if we were 25? No, however, it would definitely be more surprising to be 25 than it is to where we are based on the votes currently.

In the minds of voters, the ugly win against ODU, a game we could have easily have lost, probably offsets the close loss to LSU, a game we could have easily won.

I don't disagree. However, I don't have that much faith in the voters of the AP poll or the mid-low level assistants that place the votes for the coaches poll to pay that much attention to that game that none of them watched, especially this far along in the season.

There's just so much bias in it and lack of attention.

I.E. Kansas State got smoked by unranked BYU, beat a Tulane team that doesn't look to be that great, and beat Arizona and a HS team. Dropped 10 spots, but still ranked.

Boise State played Oregon well, snuck by Georgia Southern with a couple of late TDs to win (were down with like 7 or 8 mins left the 4th), and beat a HS team, and they're ranked.

Certainly adds merit to not even bothering with polls until several weeks into the season, particularly as so many teams schedules are front-loaded with easy wins.

Who have we beaten that is worthy?

Here's the deal: part of the strength of a team is depth. Do we have the depth to withstand injuries? I'm not sure we do.
