Okahoma going pac-12, now Okie wants big 12 reform.. Report: Mizzou is offered by SEC.. Report: SEC denies offer.. WVU applies papers.. WVU gets denied.. Now ND may go ACC.. Will anyone leave the ACC? Big east and Big 12 combine??

It may be time to turn twitter off for a while and catch up on some TV shows..

My best guess is that Oklahoma forces Texas and the rest of the Big 12 to make the concessions they're asking for and the Big 12 stays intact, except for A&M to the SEC. Despite what mosthave been saying, Texas very badly wants to hold the Big 12 together. They know they won't get a better deal from any other conference and they know that they'll be dead in the water as an independent. The question now is does the ACC stand pat or do they add Rutgers & UConn. If they add them, Big East football is dead and look for the remnant to merge with the top CUSA schools, either as part of an expanded Big East or as a new league. If not, look for the Big East to take Central Florida and East Carolina. No matter what, the Big East loses its BCS bid. As for the SEC, look for it to stay with 13 or possibly add TCU as a 14th team to expand their presence in Texas.

I would be shocked if we take Missouri with the Big 12 most likely staying together, and I can't see us remaining at 13 teams. It makes it far too hard to have anything resembling a balanced schedule.

I wish we could just take Clemson and be done with it. They may not add anything market wise, but they would fit it in better than anyone else we could add. I think people underestimate how much of a benefit the SECs current geographic footprint is. Adding school with big markets is certainly nice, but people are going to watch two good football programs play, and they are going to watch Clemson/UT, Clemson/UGA, Clemson/FLA and etc.

Southerners tend to love the SEC because it is so incredibly Southern (with the exception Kentucky and Arkansas). The fans are often preppy, and the women are attractive. Whiskey is abundant, and the the people are generally pretty similar. I hate the idea of bringing in a school that doesn't fit the SEC from a cultural standpoint. Maybe I'm just being naive, but I think SEC could bring in Clemson, NC State, UVA, GT(won't happen) or etc and still be just fine. I think being a distinctly "Southern" conference is a good thing as far as the average fan is concerned.

This will likely mark off Mizzou, and hope to god no more WVU talk. Clemson's a perfect fit, but the crybabies in the east will boycott it. VT is our best hope, even though virgina is far from southern.

The SEC could make a huge power play right now and add A&M, Mizzou, OU, and OSU.

Personally, I wish the SEC would rescind their A&M offer and stand pat, but it appears that ship has sailed. </p>

West: OU, OSU, Mizzou, A&M, Arkansas, LSU, MSU, TSUN
East: Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Florida, USCe, Tennessee

Does that sound right? Doubt it would happen like this, but it could be interesting.

The SEC doesn't want to be the conference that killed another conference. But we very well could stay at 13. The scheduling wouldn't be any more unbalanced than it is now. Over a 7-year cycle, we'd play 2 West teams 7 times, the other 4 West teams 6 times each, and each East team 3 times. I don't see us adding Clemson for two reasons. They just don't bring much additional revenue into the conference. Everyone else would be taing a pay cut if they took Clemson. And I don't see why any ACC team would want to leave the ACC anyway.

I agree with ColumbusDawg, I wish this whole thing had never gotten started. But I think A&M to the SEC is a done deal. If the Big 12 can stay together, Baylor will drop their lawsuit threats real quick.
