Rumor was Golden was showered with offers
Never understood why anyone would be dumb enough to think Golden would make a lateral move to work for a head coach who got the job instead of him.
I wasn't impressed with Jim Knowles defense during the 2nd half of the Championship game either. Let's see what happens.
The job should be offered to Poindexter unless he doesn't want it or thinks it's beyond his capabilities.

At one time it seemed like Golden was a college guy all the way. When he went to ND I thought he might stay in college. I wonder if his move to the Bengals is due in part to dumpster fire that “college” football has become with NIL and the transfer portal.
It’s a 365 day a year job. Recruiting HS kids who could be wanting/making more than some coaches, recruiting your current team to stay. Dealing with the changing dynamics of what is college football today. Can’t blame any coaches for leaving this mess.

i know its the Bengals, but it is about money too. If the Bears are paying $13 mil for Ben Johnson to be their HC, you have to figure, a DC in the NFL minimum is probably $3 mil, and that might be low. Co Ordinator's at the collegiate at most are making $2 mil right now, and very few of them, so I would guess a pay raise, with half of the BS.
