Neither team looks great to me. FSU is weak up front. Would be funny if FSU lost game one.
GT up now, crap.I clearly missed the thread on new rules for college football this year. Helmet speakers, two minute warning, no special clock rules un the last 2 minutes?

Neither of these teams can get the ball deep. FSU is getting whipped up front right now. Of course, them losing probably helps OM in the rankings & playoff hunt.
Can’t believe he’s the best QB FSU could find. If I’d realized he was their QB I’d have never said the spread was too low in the other thread.

Did a GT defender just throw up a shark fin? Is he a UM transfer or is that somehow catching on elsewhere?
GT has G5 transferred lineman and FSU D Line are GA and Bama transfers. You never know what you are going to get out of the portal. Now GT has a five-star QB helping out, that came from the portal but still.
Every year there are early games like this that demonstrate that pre-season rankings should be abolished.

Take 2022, for instance, where we finished ranked and Ole Miss did not, but Ole Miss was ranked for most of the year thanks to being ranked in the made-up preseason polls, so they're the ones who benefited more from the "rankings" in 2022 overall.

Everyone seems to think Ole Miss is a shoe in for the playoff. Yeah, they have a good shot, but the ACC is going to have three or four really good teams. Big 10 will have their usual number of good teams possibly adding one or two. The Big 12 will end up with three good teams. No one knows how good or how bad a team is going to be with the portal.
They’re not a shoo in by any means. But I’m not sure the ACC has any good teams. Maybe 1 or 2 Big 12 teams. You’ll see SEC & Big 10 with 4 teams each in the playoffs. Possible one or the other gets 5.

I can see that. We will find out real fast how good Clemson. Next weekend. Miami plays Florida next week so I don't know what we will know about them, but they got a bunch of portal guys as well. We will see.

I really thought it would be over at half. I am glad it turned out to be a fun game to watch.
There will be one or possibly two teams in the playoff that no one is expecting. The portal has change everything. I have a feeling North Carolina or Wake Forrest will be dark horses. Just a feeling. My feelings won't be hurt if it doesn't pan out.
Just to make this thread somewhat Southern Miss related, maybe FSU shouldn’t have let Tate Rodemaker transfer to USM.

He throws downfield too much. Seriously, I saw a stat late in 1st half. Ukulele was something like 12-15. Average pass in the air was -0.1 yards downfield.
