Great interview yesterday. I like everything he had to say. Unlike how many of our own fans portrayed him, he seems like a very nice, grounded young man. A bunch of our fans said he's a lousy teammate b/c of some tiny snippet of a video circulating out there. Here's what he had to say about that:

What would you say to the negative things that have been said about your character?

“A lot of people seem to forget it is a reality TV show. At that time, I was 16-17 years old having fun with my buddies in high school. We all were our authentic self in high school. I think people around sports see that competition side come out of you in different ways. My character is definitely not portrayed well in that show. That is just how it was made. I am five or six years grown from that and hopefully I have changed a little bit. I definitely have. I am a very competitive guy and also a very caring person. That is what I would have to say to those folks.”

That's a good, mature and reasonable response.

Also, he recruited GG for us.

Yes. I had not followed him all that closely out at OU, but all I heard from many USC fans when he was in the portal was that we didn't need someone of his personality. Some even referred to him as a cancer. So I was really waiting to see if he live up to (or down to) his prima donna reputation.

I am on record saying Rattler is going to be a great help to SC's offense and recruiting in general. Hopefully he is getting more mature, but he did some silly juvenile stuff at OU. It isn't just that one video. Nothing too concerning, just immaturity.

Nothing has been officially revealed. But there has been a lot of rumors that he got caught getting a blow job on school grounds.
That's just the leading rumor, so take it with a grain of salt.

I'm glad he had the opportunity to finally defend himself, and I think he said some really good things. I'm excited for next year

I wouldn't think it too big a deal either. I worked for a long time in higher ed and never heard anyone expelled for something like that. Get in trouble, sure. I was responding to a poster that seemed to imply his only significant faux pas was dissing a teammate. Getting caught in the bathroom is a bigger deal, but mainly a sign of immaturity that he has probably grown out of.
