In a society where we give out participation trophies for picking your nose, what do you expect. How do you go to a bowl game with a 5-7 record??? That’s outrageous
James Madison was ahead of Minnesota in the pecking orderBut 11-1 James Madison gets left out because they "aren't eligible?"
James Madison is playing Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl. But 11-1 James Madison gets left out because they "aren't eligible?"
Agreed…. But who on that bowl committee said, “let’s get Minnesota while we can!” I bet the Minny fans are plucking up the tickets! I am sure the TV people are ecstatic!Greed. Everything is about money.
Wtf is apr?James Madison is playing Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Minnesota got in with the highest APR rating among 5-7 teams. There was not enough 6-6 teams to fill all the slots.
Lower tier bowls are all about being a TV product and filler for ESPN for mid December. It doesn’t matter if they don’t sell a single ticket.Agreed…. Nothing new, happened before. With only 133 FBS teams not unusual for there to be fewer than 86 teams with records of 9-6 or better to fill the available slots. How do you go to a bowl game with a 5-7 record??? That’s outrageous
JMU was granted a waiver and will play in the Armed Forces bowl against Air Force. Believe one or two other transition schools, Jacksonville State comes to mind, were also granted waivers. But 11-1 James Madison gets left out because they "aren't eligible?"
FYI, seventeen or so of those lower tier bowls are owned outright by ESPN.Lower tier bowls are all about being a TV product and filler for ESPN for mid December. It doesn’t matter if they don’t sell a single ticket.
Well, putting in a 5-7 Minny team will certainly make me rearrange my golf schedule for when they play!Lower tier bowls are all about being a TV product and filler for ESPN for mid December. It doesn’t matter if they don’t sell a single ticket.
You might want to do that since there are bound to be close-ups of PJ Fleck's wife.Well, putting in a 5-7 Minny team will certainly make me rearrange my golf schedule for when they play!

All you had to do was ask nicely:While not yet a Moderator, I recognize my responsibility to my fellow Board Members:

They should sponsor this board. The American Standard Toilet Bowl?
My grandson plays baseball. He has never gotten a participation trophy. In a society where we give out participation trophies for picking your nose, what do you expect.
Your Grandson's league is doing things the right way. Good for them.My grandson plays baseball. He has never gotten a participation trophy.
I am sure PJ made sure that all his players were hitting the books to make sure they had a great APR rating! I can hear it now, “great job guys, because of you guys hitting the books so hard we get to practice for another month and play Bowling Green! Aren’t you excited!!!”
Well, putting in a 5-7 Minny team will certainly make me rearrange my golf schedule for when they play!
Practice, practice, practice! 15 very much so needed practices. The game is irrelevant.Well, putting in a 5-7 Minny team will certainly make me rearrange my golf schedule for when they play!

Because so many football players hate playing footballI am sure PJ made sure that all his players were hitting the books to make sure they had a great APR rating! I'm playing Pebble Beach and Spyglass the end of February.Played golf out in Southern CA this past week and played a fabulously different public course about an hour from Newport Beach:
Oak Quarry Golf Club
Ups and downs, turns and twists, magnificent views, very good conditioning, many awards since it opened in 2000. I dare anyone to try to walk this course on any 6/21 even without golf clubs!
Paired with a niceGophers in a bowl ? So burgoo.

Our son has played them multiple times he loves them both. Our son owns a golf course and because of the volume of merchandise he sells we get a free trip except for air fare and rental car. Would like to get a round in at Spanish Bay also. Not that big a fan of PB….but Spyglass is one of my favorites. Have fun, play well and hope the weather cooperates for you.

Thanks for the info.Never played SB.
PB can play like a Bataan Death March at times but any / every golfer should play it at least once. Late day looking into the sun on 17 can be brutal. Over the years my safe shot has become a power(less) fade, my friends say I’m the only guy they know that aims at Honolulu on 18.
ENJOY!
I believe American Standard already sponsors a board on the old site. They should sponsor this board.
