This only counts for half of a career but I specifically remember Jameon Lewis going ham on Memphis Week 1 as a freshman and then doing exactly nothing for the next two years (he would later have an excellent 2013 so he’s not a true one hit wonder).

Boy was that a nice little piece of hitting. Really drives home how much you need everybody to get that big prize. A lot of later heroics might have never happened without every little thing that allowed them to.
So right. That video led me down the rabbit hole of the CWS. Watched the 8th inning against VA. Scotty Dubrule's leadoff walk was one of the greatest at bats in State history, because it led to the rest of that inning against a guy who had no-hit us through 8. Incredible.

Robert Issac (21 carries for 103 yards and 1 TD) against 'bama in '96. Jackie's first win over his alma matter, and State's first win over the evil empire in 16 years.
Issac had a lot of other good games and moments. Had a 50+ yard TD against South Carolina in 1997….was always a decent backup RB.

I remember Renardo going for like 26 and 12 vs OM in Oxford. I feel like I remember Malik Newman going for 27 or something against OM in the Hump as well.

Brian LaNinfa had a decent later career, but his first weekend as a freshman he hit something like 5 HRs and had 14 RBIs. Then finished that year with, maybe, 9 total HRs.

Jacob Billingsley is a huge one in that elimination game against USM in Hattiesburg. Our pitching was totally depleted after fighting through loser’s bracket and he threw a complete game 2 hitter or something. Then we beat them again later that night.

That same game Jamayel Smith had 200+ receiving vs Arky, I guess it was Wes Carroll that threw for around 450. That was an insane amount considering our offensive passing history to that point. Not sure he ever had another game over 300 yards.

Marcus Grant isn’t a one-hit wonder but I don’t think he had any other games close to the one he had in Lexington in 1995.

Some that come to mind for me:

1) Marcus Grant’s Valentine’s Day massacre over UK in Rupp in 1995. Grant was a pretty decent 3rd / 4th scoring option, but was never as good as he was that night before or since.

2) Luke Alexander’s walk-off double against Washington in the first game of the 2018 CWS.

3) Korey Banks in the 2001 Egg Bowl. Picked off Eli twice.

Honorable mention to Ty Martin. Sent us to Omaha I believe in 2000 with a walk off HR to beat Notre Dame 10-9. That was fun.
You got it half right. He did walk them off to win the regional, but in true State fashion they lost the next weekend in the super at Clemson the next week.
