They have the 117th rushing defense in the nation. As far as I know, they don't run some kind of exotic defense that's impossible to prepare for like ODU did.

Assuming Sellers is rested this game, as he likely should be unless he's 100%, this seems an opportune time to get the run game going.

Zero excuses not to in this game.

This game will tell me really all I need to know about our team. How do we respond to last week's heartbreak? It's the first night game at WB this season, so the fans will likely be hopping. On top of that, they will likely still be salty from last week's game and eager to see us assert ourselves against a supposed inferior foe.

Can we come out and capitalize on that energy, put last week's game behind us and play with a determined mindset in this game? If so, I'll feel good about where Beamer has this team. If we're sloppy, uninspired and flat, then it'll be the same as things have always been.

Lmao.

Thank goodness no other SEC teams have figured out that magical ODU formula!

As for the game? Run, run and run. Sprinkle in a qb keepr and throw it maybe 10 times just to surprise them.

Sellers should not even dress out and should watch from the sideline.

FWIW, VaTech managed 465 yards and 37 points against that mystical ODU D. For comparison, they put up 27 points and 397 yards against Vandy and 42 points and 338 yards against Marshall.

Run it down their throats. But give Ashford some opportunities to throw the ball so he can build some confidence. We're probably going to need him again this year.

Running the ball over and over does not help this team prepare for the rest of the season. We tried that against ODU. We have to be balanced to be good. We need tons of passing reps. The running game looked better when Sellers was a threat to pass against LSU. If he doesn’t get hurt we probably win that game by a few scores. 2nd half, outside of the big run, we were stuffed repeatedly.
