There is a serpent that is not called Satan in the Bible. But then again, neither is Lucifer ever named Satan either. Both of those ideas are from outside the Bible. Sure thing. The later interpretations is what I meant by being "outside the Bible." I think the New Testament references are erroneous. (eg Rev 12 and 20 as well as Romans 16:20.) I'm definitely not an expert. Just an old history major (not this area of history though) with a bit of an interest in Bible history as well.
Also, allow me to graciously say thank you for the open-minded debate. Usually controversial stuff comes down to name-calling here, so it is fun to get to learn from each other for once.
