Has the pack ever discussed claiming the 1940 NC also?

Minnesota finished #1 in the AP and Tennessee also claims it but we finished with a 10-0-1 record and a win in the orange bowl over Georgetown. We also finished at #9 in the AP, while we in 1941 we finished at #20. If it has been discussed, someone explain to me why we don't claim it.
