I post now because I am having a "procedure" this Friday to have a tumor on my left lung removed. I HATE it when long time posters suddenly disappear, and we don't know anything about why. We all could count several on our fingers and toes. I've been in the background for a long time. Posting some, reading a lot. Came over with Tom when Phil sold and retired. Still doubt that Fish can run a 4.6. So, I have a solitary fibrous tumor of the pleura. Doc says it rare. Usually happens in older people. That's me. Good news, its cancerous only about 20% if the time. They don't think its cancerous. I've had 2 biopsies, and they still aren't sure. Bad news, its big.....4cm by 8cm. If things go well, I'll be home by Monday. Doc says depending, they might have to take a couple ribs out. If that happens there will be no yelling at the TV during Penn State games this season. WE ARE.
Best of luck with the procedure and quick recovery. The rest of us will yell at the TV on your behalf for a while. Hopefully you'll be able to start yelling again by October 12th when PSU plays USC.

So, I think the results of this operation could not be better. Believe it or not, after 3 biopsies, they still aren't exactly sure what the heck this thing is. I am posting at 4am on Saturday morning because I CAN NOT sleep. It was a liquid filled mass. They drained it and scraped it out. Did not have to take any ribs, nor lung. My left lung hurts. Especially when I do the deep breathing exercises they have me doing. I'll take that any day over the other 2 options. They had to collapse the lung to do their job. Might be in here for 3 or 4 days to get everything working right, again. Best news of all is I will be yelling at the TV after all. Probably for the West Virgina game. Tom, I'm coming after you. They did find fiberous material...so they think it is a tumor but benign. Testing it to be sure.
