This is the bourbon that makes me a bit sad (financially) about the last 10 or so years of this market.

10 year old Henry McKenna is almost certainly the reason Evan Williams 1783 is no longer a top quality bourbon, and maybe the best value in the history of whiskey.

20 years ago 1783 was my daily drinker and I routinely bought it for $10 to $12 a fifth. Pretty sure it even had a 10 year age statement on it at some point. Those barrels are clearly going into McKenna and other Heaven Hill higher dollar labels and much younger stuff is in the 1783 bottles.

It is what it is, but I miss the days when the world outside of Japan forgot that bourbon whiskey is the best high production spirit made on this planet.

I feel you.
I remember when I could buy Buffalo Trace for 16 bucks a bottle. Then the secret got out. 28 bucks, or more now, if I can find it.
