I had to watch it in a silent small corner of my screen because of the weather up here…not complaining, but evidently that was one hell of a game. A question: Who here besides me was at the Hump when Phi Slamma Jamma came in in the early 80s? I was a student. That was one hell of a team.

I was there. I think it was preconference 82 or 83. I know that I was still in high school which I finished in May of 84. Kelvin Hildreth had a monster dunk over Akeem the Dream.
Akeem, Clyde Drexler, Larry Micheaux - that team was loaded

I was there. We actually pretty much contained Phi Slamma Jamma, as much as you can. Lost 68-62. It was an event to see that team play.

I was there. It was '83, and my dad just happened to be in town. We went to the game even though he wasn't much of a basketball fan.

I mostly remember the warmups. Houston had some huge guy wearing gold chains set up a boom box under their goal. He had on a black T shirt that said "DUNK YOU VERY MUCH".

Sort of related, I saw them in the 1982 Final Four along with Louisville, Georgetown, and North Carolina. Many future NBA stars Patrick Ewing, James Worthy, Michael Jordan, Sam Perkins, Clyde Dexler, Akeem Olajuwon (not a starter)

Crossing my fingers we get full screen tonight. So far, so good.**

Here we go, one shining moment. Go Cougs!

I remember that now.
Not sure why I didn’t make the 18 minute drive to watch that game ?
Must have been December of 1982
