I liked them when they were the Cleveland Indians. The first major league team I pulled for cause Al Rosen one of their stars had Spartanburg connections. Used to run to the mail box to get the Spartanburg Herald Journal to see how they did and how Rosen did at the plate.
My team. Unfortunately missed almost the entire day of college football watching this 15 inning game.
Yes he did! Another Cleveland Indian I followed. Still regret what happened to Herb Score. For you youngsters Score was a pitcher hit in the eye by a ball off the bat of ??? and his career ruined. Never recovered.
Another lifetime Indians fan here. The batter who name nailed Score was Gil McDougald. Score could have been another Sandy Koufax but his career was effectively ended. As it was he became the longtime radio voice of the Tribe and a very good one.
Would like to see CLE advance, but they need to start getting some serious run production. and soon to have any kind of chance.
Discontinuing Wahoo was a good idea, IMO, but keep the nickname and get a new logo.
