Well, a lot of our talent on D this year graduates or moves on to the league.
As far as underclassmen, our hope is that either Beamer has built the culture to the point that they’re completely committed to the program, or our players simply have enough integrity and character to stick with the team they committed to play for and be a part of.

You just have to hope and pray that at some point a little bit of loyalty comes into play. We can pay up to keep some, like Stewart, but there are too many vultures to fight them all off.

Have to hope, like pony said, that the culture has taken root.

NIL needs a cap. NCAA needs to step up or out of the way. I will say that the NIL has balanced the playing field. Gone are the days where Alabama and Georgia has 15 five star players in a class.

One is everyone has to give $$$ to the collective. If we want to compete its time to skip that extra weekend in Myrtle and give that $$ to players. Sorry but thats the reality the “pay the players” advocates created.

Next, try to keep as many as we can, but also find replacements. Who is the next Kinnard and Rocket out there on some other roster? We beat Florida w a QB from St Francis University haha. Juice wells was an FCS guy who came and lit up Clemson. FSU found superstar DE Jarrod Verse in FCS.

Thats what we have to do. Bama, Georgia etc poach known stars from programs like us. We have to poach hidden gems.

I’ll bite, does anyone cap your worth? The NFL doesn’t even do that.

The problem with loyalty is that it goes both ways. Lets say a high profile recruit out of hs is in his third year with the program and expecting to start. Then the coaches bring in a portal player with the promise of pt and the HS recruit gets the shaft. I wouldn’t blame him for being un loyal. Talking about LG and RG in particular.

Nice sentiment, but unrealistic in today's environment.

Everyone knows that at the very best, a player has a college career of about 4 years, and only a handful make it to the league. You have to get what you can, and get it now.

Have a great program, great culture, and great NIL.

You do those things and you'll keep more than you lose.
We are not a Texas school so competing on NIL$$$ is tough, the program is moving in the right direction but not quite great, so I guess we'll see how strong the culture really is and how important it is to the players compared to the other two.

I would never give a single red cent of money that I worked hard for to a collective. I would just as soon see college football vaporized into thin air. It’s not THAT important.

Mostly in agreement. I'm not going to give my money to a collective. I live a comfortable lifestyle but I'm not in the "I need to donate about 1 million to avoid a tax penalty" bracket.
Disagree on the vapor comment, but changes need to be made.

So how does the NIL poachers work? I did not think anyone else could offer anything to a member of a team if that person is not in the portal?

Actually the NFL does, at least with salary.

The #1 thing that will fix the mess is bring back the 1 year sit rule for same division transfers.
NIL and salary are 2 totally different animals. Not saying you but some can’t legally differentiate between the 2.

But yet you would give it to an athletic department to build elaborate facilities and dormitories for same said players, all in the hope of getting them to sign?

They can’t but that doesn’t include an agent aunty or uncle.

I would hate to see college football vaporized ( 🤣 ), but until my own kid graduates from undergrad and grad school without any debt, I can't imagine paying money so that another college kid can get rich. So, I guess I'll revisit this issue in about 8 or 9 years.
