How do you read the trajectory of Penn State football?

Trajectory was up until the last 2 years... 2 years ago we can write off to covid. Last year was a step back albeit they were undefeated and winning the Iowa game until Clifford got hurt. Lack of depth/experience at QB and OL really showed. We hope that has been addressed although talented lack of game experience is a worry but nothing the coaches can do about it except play games. Interesting article I just read since the penalties from Sandusky this years OL will be the first PSU line that all 5 starters will be at least 4 star recruits. And the finally have back up depth with talent as well. Same at QB, now finally have talent backing up the starter that if injuries occur we hope to have a solid backup. They key now will be development of these young players. I am hopeful. Yurcich coached offenses have shown to really improve in year 2. Hoping another year of Trautwein working with the OL will take a big step forward. Hoping for a smooth transition to Diaz as DC. I am hopeful that PSU takes a big step forward after last season and as the young guns get experience the trajectory is up over the next few years as they develop.

Not way up. Not with the current leadership. Averaging around 18 - 23 ranking-wise. Only question is what will be the excuse? NIL run wild? Coaching turnover? Players retiring? Injury? Best player sitting out? Each year we’ll get a different one that justifies pushing the payoff to TPG out another year.

Ah.....the obsession with the path not taken......Why do coaches always make the wrong choice? I wish I had a dollar for every "mistake" I made in 38 years of HS sports. Best one was the father who declared that his son "might have been Babe Ruth" if we had just played him more.
Posters here cry all the time about QBs running too much.....WL's biggest asset.
I know it's painful, but perhaps coaches actually watched Levis and Clifford for years and decided that Clifford was better equipped to do the things they wanted
from a QB?
Why would they do that?
