A good DC wouldn’t be this bad with decent high school talent. There’s lack of talent, but we are completely out of position all freaking day long.

We gave up 673 yards to Arkansas. This is worse than just NO talent.
I don't know if we shouldn't give Lebby another year, but our defense needs to be completely dismantled.

I'll take who ever posted the other day about hutzler's contract at their word, that being said can he be let go? do we have the $ for it? if he is let go, i'd assume all the d staff would be gone as a new DC would bring in his own people, right?
Hutzler sucks but he won't be fired. And yes Cody sh*t the bed at Arkansas and Lebby bailed him out of getting canned. But I doubt either of them get fired. We get to watch them learn on the job. Pathetic situation. Hard to stomach. I had to quit watching the GD game

Yea, Vandy went from 130+ on total defense in 2023 to ~ 40ish now. We've done the complete opposite. There was a ton of effort from the current staff in the off-season in getting this bad (as much as I'd love to blame everything on ZA).
Maybe, maybe not. When you are slow and make slow decisions, you are always out of position. That can be and usually is a talent issue as well.
Well, might as well get the pink slips ready because we've lost three 4 star commits in the last few weeks, all on defense...........
This is the problem if you are a 4&5 star recruit watching the product we have on the field you should be salivating at the chance to come here and have a great chance for playing time. The. You watch the game see the absolute ineptitude in coaching and scheme and decide why would I go play for that 17 up DC?
It's definitely a catch22. If my son was a stud DL I would advise him to rethink his choice of coaches. I don't see any of them making improvements. I doubt any firings but I'm not sure how you get any serious commitments added to this team
Think we can get Belacheat and DC? I think his GF will be a college freshman next fall, maybe she can enroll at State?
If Lebby doesn't let go he gives zero hope that he wants to improve and show that he doesn't have what it takes to make it past a few years. If we get blown out all next year and hutzler is still the coordinator Lebby should be fired along with salmon. If he gets rid of hutzler and the defense is still last in the league he should still probably be fired if we don't win 5.
True. It's a sticky situation. Who would want to come play on this defense with this staff ? Idk what he will do. Fire him and hire Shiel Wood ?? I'm guessing nobody wanted the job last year.
At this point, I’d be in with paying him to go away. I’d rather have air on the sideline than Hutzler
Did any other team in the nation give up 58 points or more today? I rest my case.
