I’d put a Fran coached team loses by 25 to a Florida team like that. Congrats to Connor and Pmac for such a great win for their alma mater. I’m sure they are over the moon right now like all of Hawkeye nation!🤭
Fran was let go. We as fans should take the high road and do the same. If your dad was terminated from a school that you spent a majority of your childhood years and the start of your young adult life at I'm sure you might be a little salty also. We are coming off one of the greatest hawkeye wins in many of our lifetimes. We have another game to play to make it to the Elite Eight! I'd rather focus on the efforts of this team.

Naw. Connor deserves all the flack. Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it back! And I did take the high road, I congratulated both of them as proud Iowa basketball alums!

Fran would not have been able to draw up a final play, wound not of taken a TO to be able to draw up a play, would have had 3 TO's as the buzzer sounded, and would have warm hands from them being in his pocket the entire game.

First 4 - in place of SMU. 12 point loss to the mid-major. 24 point loss facing FL somehow.

With Fran as coach, Florida wins 95-80.
I predicted something similar…80 seems a little high, but I could see it happening in garbage time….or if Fran played his future NBA lottery pick instead of his son. (Sorry, could not resist) 😎

Well, Fran's current team only gave up 65 points the other day in their tourney loss . . . in the second half.

I think highly and fondly of Fran. He dug the program out of the Big 10 cellar. He had a team that at one point was ranked #1 in KenPom in late January / early February. He helped bring in NBA talent that the program had not seen in a long time.

Fran is a very good coach, but obviously we never got over the hump with him. It was time for him to go, and boy was the timing great because we seem to have an excellent coach with Ben McCollum. If Fran had left/been fired earlier, I'm not sure who we would have hired (maybe Darian DeVries if it happened a year earlier?), but I cannot imagine we would have got anyone better than McCollum.

Fran’s team never makes it to this game…

F all things McCaffery

As the all time winningest coach in Iowa men's basketball history, I demand some respect.

Thank you.
