How unlucky are we?

I really thought we had a chance at Ole Miss IF they had come into our game undefeated and not having really been tested at all. Walking into a hostile environment for the first time this season without having any previous adversity, I thought might give us a chance to surprise them. That was largely undone by UK beating them at Ole Miss. What little bit was left undone by that was finished off by us being 100% uncoached coming into the game.

Now we have to lick our wounds as we prepare to head off to Tuscaloosa to take on a Crimson Tide team that is...you guessed it...coming off an upset loss to Vandy of all teams. Now, granted, we would have had about a 1.5% chance of winning this game anyway. But having to face them in Tuscaloosa the week after one of their worst losses ever is just about as downright unlucky as you can get. They will be fired up and looking to send a message that last week's game was a fluke. I look for this game to be sewn up before the end of the first quarter.

They are currently favored by 20.5, and I'd expect them to cover before we get to the second stanza.

Nothing to be surprised about really. We had a big win over a UK team that obviously took us lightly and was looking ahead to UGA and our fans thought we were better than we are. We played a bad LSU team close and our fans thought we were top half of the SEC.

Beamer is in way over his head. It doesn't matter how much he "wants to be here", he isn't an SEC level head coach.

Yes, there were a few after the UK game who were cautioning that UK really just imploded against us. We actually didn't play all that great. They just utterly self-destructed in every way imaginable. They have gone on to prove that their performance in that game was likely an anomaly.

But, it's downright unlikely that we handily beat UK, then they right the ship and take down Ole Miss the week before we play them. Then Vandy goes and pulls of a shocker to beat #1 Bama the week before we have to travel to Tuscaloosa. Two weeks in a row we get to face a vastly more talented team who is out to prove a point.

Poor timing for sure. I guess it at least gives us an excuse for two of our losses.

Rocket is still gimpy. Without Rocket we are one dimensional, and iffy at that. The team knew this and played like it, foggy and tentative, hoping something for something good which obviously didn't happen. We're not good enough for that level without the Rocket running game. That's football, it happens; football teams only get coached out of that in movies. Unless Sanders suddenly comes back full go, expect more of the same.
