Yep!! Feel bad for all the folks that didn't take their kids for that weekly ice cream trip so they could send Juice $12/mth. This is exactly why I'll never give a dime to any NIL collectives.Juice after raking in a million or so in NIL money this past season, playing a handful of snaps and spending the rest of the season sitting on his butt listing to his Beats headphones:

But they'll tell us the solution is...MORE NIL MONEY!!!!!!
I agree, and I don't like the collectives either. But they're a necessity. We're not big enough for 2. GT and CR need to merge into one. I do know that RT and leadership have been more involved recently in NIL....2 years too late, but I think they're getting the message that we cannot survive with our AD telling out mega donors "you have two options...THEM or US". It's his job to raise money and allocate where it's needed...including NIL.Our NIL is a disaster anyway. If you read between the lines of what those on radio are saying and even what Ray Tanner said a while back, we are WAY behind the rest of the league minus Vanderbilt with NIL. We have no real direction, players are seeing money from garnet Trust going to only a couple of players and the guy heading it up is a joke who created it on his own and took it to the school and they accepted. Dawn basically has her own stuff going on for the women because of how bad it is. We NEED a true direction for NIL and right now it is not there. Garnet Trust and the other thing are not what is needed. Collectives are a waste. There are tons of Carolina athletes who are getting frustrated because nothing is being done for all equally. We will continue to slide until it has direction and true leadership.
Well, I'd say lets see how this plays out. The internet isn't always the best source of info. It sure doesn't look good. But I'll wait until some details emerge before calling him a thief. With how dishonorable, dishonest, underhanded and crooked Antwane conducted himself, I would hope other programs would turn him away on principle alone. You would think other coaches would realize the kind of behavior they are encouraging by taking a crook like Antwane in and that the same thing could happen to them one day.
Sadly, there is no honor among thieves.

Should we change our stance on NIL? Lets just say Juice/Ratt free up $2M/yr. Are we better off getting high level OL/DL players and trying to spread that money? We have to get good...period. I don't think Juice is leaving for $$. It's likely for a chance to compete for a championship. UGA isn't slinging bags of $$ around. They're smart about it and make sure everyone is taken care of. You can do that when you can offer a kid a chance to compete for championships.
To highlight my point about BOTH USC and Clem being in a bad spot, they just lost their top WR Beaux Collins to the portal. The state is going to have to step in and help unless they want to start seeing the tourism revenue drying up from fall weekends.I agree, and I don't like the collectives either. Our state legislature has failed us too. They could have legislated that we could have PA operate within the University as planned. There's nothing the NCAA could have done about it. When you look at states like Missouri who have given the middle finger to the NCAA bc they understand the only way Mizzou will survive is if they're able to do things other states can't, it pisses me off. USC and Clem are in a very bad spot.
Just drop FB since we not serious about it anyway
This thing should have been squashed when it was just a thought.Antwane after raking in a million or so in NIL money this past season, playing a handful of snaps and spending the rest of the season sitting on his butt listing to his Beats headphones:

Agreed. You can fix this real easy at least the players transferring for NIL.Blame the NCAA for the way NIL is today. They put their heads in the sand and ignored the issue hoping it would just go away. Then they ended up in a legal battle that there was zero chance of them winning. You can't have a billion-dollar sports industry and expect it to remain amateur sports.
They really should bring #1 back, with some exceptions.Agreed. You can fix this real easy at least the players transferring for NIL.
1- all transfers sit a year regardless of circumstances. That's how it was when I played.
And/or
2- Transfering players can't do NIL deals.
2 would likely cause legal issues. #1 would prevent a majority of transfers.
Number 1 should never have been changed - it made your initial commitment decision a very important one.Agreed. You can fix this real easy at least the players transferring for NIL.

Agreed. NIL + free transfer = disaster.Number 1 should never have been changed - it made your initial commitment decision a very important one.
Flat out paying players to come to your school is wrong.
At this point, I am in favor of what I heard someone else suggest on another board I am a member of. Let's just stop pretending this is amateur sports and call it simi pro with actual pay-for-play contracts. That could put a stop to a lot of transferring.
Agreed.Ban collectives. The only reason collectives exist is to play players to play.
If a player wants to capitalize on NIL, let him. He can make as much as he's capable of making on his own.
Now that is not true. The guy did have a broken foot. A broken sat Jordan out for almost a year. Let's say he did play the last 2-3 games and produced nothing (Lloyd), then you would be mad at him for that.I'd agree we are not serious since just allowed a player to sit on his butt all season while collecting over a million in NIL and a full scholarship.
Could be a possibility I would suppose. In this scenario, can players be traded?
The game I once loved and now I have lost that love because of the crap that's destroying it. It used to hurt when we lost, but not anymore.I hate NIL, but it absolutely cannot be a no strings attached arrangement. I always thought pay-to-play was absurd, but that sounds like a dream compared to the hose job Antwane just pulled on us. Pay to not play.
