Purely anecdotal, but I've read where Louisville is supposed to be a big spender in NIL.

Wish the kid all the best, but he got squeezed out on the depth chart! I would hope that's a good sign for us!

Riiiiiight, because we’re stacked up at WR. So stacked that Beamer said with his Bruce’s departure we may have to start a true freshman.

So is there no dead period at all where a kid can't transfer? Seems weird you can basically learn a playbook during the fall and then a day later be playing for someone else.
Right, I didn’t think there was a portal window open right now. But I guess he’s not going through the portal? I’m not sure how all this works.

I didn't realize you could actually transfer at this late of a date.

Please tell me we aren't going to see transfers after games are played.

Fwiwi, I didn't say we were stacked, I said he couldn't break the two deep so he didn't want to hang around 3rd string.

All that has to happen is; someone asks to transfer after a game, is told “no”, they file a lawsuit and then they can transfer. All these players have to do is sue for anything and the courts side with them. Whatever…. So sick of it all!

Do you not think there's a reason the courts side with them?

I suggest everyone find an additional fall activity they enjoy. It's the best time of year to be outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, etc. Whatever works for you. I'm not giving up college football just yet, but I sure am glad I have another great pastime to fall back on when that does happen.

The fact he took off because he could see he wasn't going to get enough PT here, whether it was due being outplayed by a freshman, a recent transfer, or whatever is a good thing, I don't care what some of you negative nellies say, LOL

I think Huggins -Bruce wants to start, and he wasn't going to here, and this past weekend, it was announced that wide receiver Caullin Lacy, one of Louisville's top incoming transfers and their expected WR1, would miss an "extended period of time" after suffering a broken collarbone on the final day of fall camp.

So he took off, good for him, he will play more there, makes sense.

This is one of many things wrong with NIL and why I will never give a dime towards it.

If we must have it, it should be performance based. Otherwise, there’s no protection for the program. Guys can come and collect money and leave before actually playing a game. It’s insane.

I would think this is something most programs/collectives could get behind. They are now collectively shelling out millions of dollars with no guarantee of anything. In this case, a player can come collect NIL money never play a game and leave.

Or just make the paychecks for the appearances or autographs or social media posts be after the guy's played a few games. This situation here is insanity. Pay a guy NIL money and he's gone back to his old school before the end of August?

He was saying that before Huggins-Bruce left. They have been talking about Mazeo Bennett since the spring. Two spring portal guys will probably start (Brown and Lavardain). There was also two late portal signings in the late spring and summer (Campbell and Jacobs). Both of those guys are going to play. So, the playing time Huggins-Bruce thought was here is no longer available and he is going back to a place where he was playing.

I suggest everyone keep their programs handy. Guys will be going in and out everywhere and most teams will not know what they really have until it hits the field.

Take it up with Beamer. He said with the loss of Bruce, we'd probably end up starting a true freshman.
Whatever makes you feel we are shorthanded works for me. I stand by my post. This guy left not because he was some great NIL value, it was going to be about playing time. I wish him well. He was never a Gamecock so irrelevant to me.

With the free agency portal, players will be changing jerseys in a phone booth so get used to it.
Oh, I forgot, What's a phone booth? - for the youngsters out there.

Again, I just rely on what the head coach says. Maybe you lnow more about the roster than him.

I’m going to reach out to him and ask WTF? Give us some of that NIL cash!

I wouldnt give a dime to a kid to come play for my team just so we win.
Some of these kids make more money in a year than regular folks make in a lifetime. Its just not that important. They laugh all the way to the bank with no loyalty.
Jokes on us.
