Made sure to tell him his award was garbage for leaving out Forbes. Didn't realize he lives near me. He told me he'll be sure he puts in a good word if we have another top CB. He also informed me the committee couldn't care less about his opinion. Seemed like a great guy. Made me actually look up and read more about his grandad, cool story.
I did learn that they finally gave Thorpe his Olympic gold medals this year, his grandson just went to Sweden for the ceremony after 110 years.
