to play on this team, who would it be.

I'll take Ed Smith in a squeaker over Pork Chop b/c Im that concerned about the ends right now.

He would be a machine in the West Co.....well, whatever it is Croom has McCorvey run.

Madkin would be a good one too. This team just needs a playmaker at QB and things would be alot different.

2nd choice Olanda Truitt. 17ed up coming out early, 3rd choice, Norwood.

We need play making WRs, barring them ,with our run heavy O, I'll then go with J-Rock.

Jordan didn't give a **** enough to be a machine in any O run. He would help punting though.

played LBer, they just called him DE.

Ellis Wyms would be a good DE for this scheme, so would Kevin Henry.

He rushed the qb and did it successfully so I don't care what they called him.

We have major needs at DE. We could use another good tackle. And there is a big time playmaker in Eric Moulds to choose from, yet you would take a Dog Safety? Safety is our deepest position.

I would take Moulds #1 just because he is too much of a force to pass on. But Ellis Wyms or Greg Favors would be a close second.

He only started one year. 1993. 1993 ranks in a couple of our top 10 categories for production by the offense. Yeah, it is real far-fetched.

and is the single season sack leader. Its a good choice.

Edited: The clip you provide even shows him in a 3 point stance on the line.

Favors is 5th all time in sacks. He played OLB/DE. We actually moved him all over the field. In our system, he would play DE.

..I think there are better choices.

I'd love to see what Willie Blade could have become if he'd ever become motivated.

44% of his passes and wasn't in the top 10 in school history in pass efficiency that year.

We are talking about Smith and Favors, 2 of only 4 players in school history to register double digit sacks in a season.

And I misspoke, Willie Evans is the single season leader so I would say he is the only one that is more consistent.

What kind of consistency are you looking for?

I hear it all started with #12. Is that what you heard Goat?

Back on subject, yeah, a 6'4", strong armed, prototypical drop back passer is not who you want back for this football team. Because when he played we sucked. Sounds like typical logic here.

6'4" Agreed
strong armed Agreed
drop back passer Agreed
prototypical Only if your prototype is a quarterback with an IQ of 60 and an amazing ability to throw incompletions at an alarming rate

but where it stemmed from, or if Jordan played a part in it I don't know. There is only one similarity between #10 in '92 and #12 in '93. I DO know that Kevin Fant did not have that problem with much less disciplined players. And you know, it could just be that Jordan just really sucked and all the players knew it. However Sherrill might have thought that #12 wasn't ready. I knew alot of folks in the stands around me constantly yelled "just TRY the guy Jackie, please just TRY him!" over and over again.

I was a young lad at the time, but I remember thinking Jordan was good but was a victim of the "situation".

You are right on the number. Thinking one thing and typed another.

I hear Plump got pissed about being moved to WR. We lost a few games. Plump, Taite and others bitched about Jordan starting. Then Plump and another started giving half *** efforts. They totally laid down vs Arkansas State and Arkansas that year.

Can't remember all their names. Seemed like the only one that would catch Jordan's passes was Moulds.

Having a shut down corner who can free up the safety to either play run or centerfield takes defenses to another level. JLD's greatest successes at Ole Miss and State came when he had one, or two, great man to man corners. I'd really rather take a player on offense but it seems like one guy wouldn't be enough to really make a noticeable difference. I like the Sleepy choice and I like Pork Chop, but I'm gonna go with Keffer McGee for sentimental reasons as my offensive choice.

Eric Moulds. We would have a legit 1 reciever at that point also Josh Morgan just cause I loved the way he played.
