When I think of '14, I do think of disappointment. Losing to Bama, Mississippi, & getting man-handled by GA Tech to finish the season left much to be desired. To be fair, when I think of '14, I think of winning, so disappointment abounds.
I think of driving all the way back from Miami to Austin in one hit. Those 3 games to end the season never should have rolled our that way. When I think of '14, I do think of disappointment. Losing to Bama, Mississippi, & getting man-handled by GA Tech to finish the season left much to be desired.
Everything about these uniforms looks generic. Look like Croom uniforms. And playing like Croom teams. The white helmets just don’t do it for me. I just don’t get it at all. The look generic.
We get Dollar General Adidas. The whole reason for leaving Nike was this same stuff.Everything about these uniforms looks generic. Look like Croom uniforms. And playing like Croom teams.
I will laugh my *** off if he doesRumor is Mullen is wearing shorts this weekend *
We’re accommodating the Aggie maroon helmets. Weve been second fiddle to them with regard to thought and care from Addidas. So why are we still with them? The white helmets just don’t do it for me. I just don’t get it at all. The look generic.
Yea. When you are inundated with all that marketing from Rutgers, Pitt, Indiana, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Virginia, Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State it REALLY makes you think, you know Mississippi State IS the absolute worst! **Fits right in there with the "Showtime" theme. What a joke of a program we are right now. Worst marketing & branding in P4 by a long shot.
They probably have an equivalent proportion of fans complaining about white helmets, too.We should make a deal with A&M. Every time we play, visitors wear white head to toe, home team wears maroon head to toe.
All those arm bands....
It would help if they removed that Croomesque maroon stripe that runs down the middle of the helmet. If it’s going to be white, it needs a white face mask and no strip. The white helmets just don’t do it for me. I just don’t get it at all. The look generic.
In a fan of the all white. Looks clean and fast to me.We should make a deal with A&M. Every time we play, visitors wear white head to toe, home team wears maroon head to toe.
My absolute least favorite thing that we have done over the past 12 years is going out of our way to not wear maroon when we play Texas A&M at home. If there's one game a year we should go all-maroon, it should be that one. We were here first, damn it.Eh, we've been mostly wearing the white helmets. Makes even more sense this week as I assume TAMU will be wearing Maroon helmets. We have completely different jerseys than in 2014, so I don't think that really factored into the choice.
Yeah, they ran around the field like we weren't there.I didn't see the Snow Bowl unis . I recall them being particularly effective against aTm when we wore them.**
Yeah, but there was so much more good about the season than bad. I think the ending puts a sour note on it, but most of that season was amazing.I think of driving all the way back from Miami to Austin in one hit. Those 3 games to end the season never should have rolled our that way.
I’m sure they do but when both teams wear both maroon and white it looks like a spring game. Give us olds some contrast. They probably have an equivalent proportion of fans complaining about white helmets, too.
This seems dumb to me. When I think of 14 I think of Maroon Helmets.
I disagree with this, in a long-term, general sense. You don't see many teams that succeed at super high levels that don't understand the importance of branding.Just win games and these conversations go away. Football sucks so everything else sucks.
State has never had any sort of stable logo ever so saying one logo is THE logo is just conversation.I disagree with this, in a long-term, general sense. You don't see many teams that succeed at super high levels that don't understand the importance of branding.
I'm sure some of you will point out the exceptions to the rule. It's small time thinking. A lot of things add up to winning and changing perception of your program and school. If anything, we are proof of that, the M-State was there during our ascension over the past 20 years. Our baseball specific branding is another piece of evidence.
