The early online orders are way ahead of last seasons. Plus, with the buzz coming off of an 8-5 season and another possible bowl season around the bend, ticket sales will definitely be up. There hasn't been this much excitement around MSU football since 2001. I know how that season went, but you get my point. I see no reason why we shouldn't have at least 6 wins this year. I know we are MSU, but it does seem that the attitude has changed up there.
I agree with Goat. This recruiting class will be stacked. I know numbers don't mean much, but a nice class with a nice year makes it even better. I fully expect this class to be in the top 25, possibly top 20.
I expect us to sign or me a MAJOR player for these players:
1. Cox (MSU commit, offered by LSU, Bama, Auburn, Colorado)
2. Patterson (offered by LSU, Auburn, Alabama, MSU, Ole Miss)
3. Boyd (offered by LSU, Michigan, Alabama, MSU, Ole Miss, Auburn)
4. Russell (MSU commit, UT and Bama pressing hard on him)
5. Usher (after the summer camps, he'll have a few nice offers, MSU will get him)
6. Montrell Conner (he's liked us all the way and LSU won't be a factor because they have 2 (4*) RB's committed) Big boy offers on Montrell (USC, A&M, Tennessee, Oklahoma and MSU leads by a large margin)
7. Bumphis (We lead right now by the slimmest of margins according to a few sources I've personally heard (not Rosebowl). Tyler Russell and him are in contact often. Offered by Fla, UT, Bama, Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn)
8. Thames (if he stays in Mississippi, he's ours. Offered by Michigan, MSU, Auburn, Ole Miss and Arky)
A couple of these are obvious because they are committed. It's been a long time that we have lead for serious talent with other schools offering them as well. That would be the bulk of our class.
