after the upgrades.**

I’m guessing/hoping this is the non club level side which doesn’t show what they did.

Simple, not over the top, court design…

I kind of thought more would be done but it’s good.

  1. The court can now properly drain flood waters
  2. The courtside seating is gone
  3. To honor Mike Leach, we removed the player bench seats as well.

To answer #2, I think that's where some of the student section will be moved.

Any pictures looking back into the new club level area?
There is one on GP (looks like where this one came from). Basically black cushioned seat in the center. Little surprised at all of the fussing about the actual arena looking no different when the plan and info from the start was always going to be updating the entrances and concourses/bathrooms/concessions and adding a "club". I think the actual arena is perfect for watching BKB.

I'd copy and post the picture but the last time I tried to post something I blew up the site, ain't doing that again.

That's the other side from the club. The majority of the rest of it is the entrances and the concourse. That was what was really needed.

I hope the above picture isn't it. This was the rendering when it was first announced.

Cohen said you would be able to see the floor when you walked into the building. I don’t see how that’s possible from these pics.

Not a good angle of the pic. You could see the floor from entrances last year. One of the major things they did during early construction was to knock the walls out by the entrances and new club level but it is not a 360 view.

Another John Cohen production. I know the cost is crazy, but our cheap asses when cheap again.

The “materials are expensive” argument doesn’t work for me. The planned renovations and initial renderings were announced in October 2018, pre-COVID and pre-crazy inflation. We were always going the cheap route with this, the rising costs just gave us a convenient excuse.

here's the press release on the renovations, watch the video

Here is Dale Partners overview of it in case you havent seen that yet. Yes DALES :) We are free to be extra salty up in that Hump. Also note that it comes with robot fans wearing the correct shade of maroon and that walk around and fill it up on days it is not a sellout***

Biggest thing for me was getting rid of the 1983 exterior of the Hump. I've never really cared about the inside, except for the fact that club seating makes money, so we need it, and there's a demand for it. Curious to see what it looks like.
The outside doesn't matter at all. It's the inside that matters.

I was in the renovation camp but this is pretty pathetic. It’s like saying I’m going to renovate my house and all I do is spackle and repaint with the same colors.

They could have done a much better job than this.
And something tells me we’d be sick if we found out how much was spent on this

First year architecture students could have done a better design than the actual outcome of the changes if the pictures above are truly the renovated images.
