It's important to our university and alumni. I don't give a **** if it's not to other programs.
you strategize what you pay and how you pay and then you strategize who you hire a d the type of players you recruit. Some ads are able to find the coaches who grind and get more with less. Others ***** about needing more nil and 5 stars. The players good coaches can spot and find the diamonds in the rough. If you can't beat the others with money then you got to find other ways. Find coaches that win with less and then incentivize to keep them hungry. Then with players you do the same. The players that kind of coach will find will be the dirt bags and the guys that are willing to work for it and hold your team together and lead. Some talent things are not on paper and not in the stars.
I don't know man, Beard's record is very good, but that doesn't negate that Jans is good too.
Fact remains, softball gets higher TV ratings than college baseball. It’s a minor niche sport That most of the country doesn’t even know exists.

College baseball is still one of the largest college sports and means a lot to our fanbase which is what should matter. It means more than any of the other women's sports in terms of money and viewership. I would say women's basketball would follow right behind men's baseball.
It's been said over and over on TV broadcasts. Once again, any money spent on anything outside of football and men's basketball is wasted these days. Those two, and really just football, pay the bills, and the bills are about to get a whole lot larger. We don't have the money for luxury sports.What's your source for that.

Well just cancel everything but football then. But since msu will always follow behind most of the SEC in football in money no matter because if we give 20 million other schools will give more in that arms race. Continue to enjoy that.
baseball is one of the sports that has always been a Mississippi State thing and if you don't take care of that program you lose the fans and lot of general interest in that. You don't know how many people I've talked to in all my stuff all over the US that know msu and baseball and know that's been our thing and mention our baseball program and players from MSU. Nobody mentions crap about football or basketball synonymous with msu. They did when Mullen was around and would mention Mike Leach but not about our players and program. MSU has a baseball legacy and it's hard for some of yall to understand how important that is a too a school. Stop caring and you are just nobody in everything at MSU. I guess that's what some of you want.

Our coaches aren’t here to just be better than history, they want to win & win big. So why should we as fans be content if they aren’t? Did you hear Jans in the postgame say, we are just so happy to be here again because it isn’t in our history to make this tournament, so to get here for a third straight year is just so special & gratifying?
Baseball barely breaks even here and 95% of other schools lose money in baseball. Football and men’s basketball are the two money makers, with football by far the biggest.
If you do better than average consistently that raises what your average is. Math you know.
Baseball doesn't have even close to the fans football does, even at MSU. Baseball isa pro based game and college baseball is a very minor regional sport. Nobody much mentions it period, unless they are trying to be nice to MSU people.
It's not always about the money. We will always lose the arms race in being good in football. We have to find ways to get teams that over achieve and coaches that get more with less. If you invest in baseball at least historically at msu it gives us a chance to continue a legacy in msu baseball that our fans truly care about. And something we can actually be good at. As I mentioned previously, if you don't and don't hold coaches accountable we just suck in everything. Some of you live in delusionville and think if we just put more money in football and less in baseball somehow we will magically get better. Well we are putting more money in football than we ever have and we win no conference games. Adding another 10 million isn't gonna make that better without getting coaches that do more with less.
baseball is one of the sports that is a top 3 in college athletic viewership and fans. It's also one that we have been good at until the last three years for having this bad of a three year stretch. Some of you folks haven't been fans of msu very long to not understand the importance of msu baseball. Some of you must have come to msu during the dsn Mullen era or leach era of football.
Grew up going to Dudy Noble and Davis Wade during the Croom years. Raised in Oktibbeha County. I know all about the love of baseball here. We will end up left out if we don’t invest in football and make baseball the priority. Conference matchups against Arkansas State and South Alabama will be the future at the Dude if we don’t take the revenue sports more seriously.
Why do we always devolve the discussion into whether we should spend money on other programs or not? We are evidently not spending enough money on our main programs. It's a stupid discussion until we get our primary programs going in the right direction.

One that measures success solely on its history or one that also takes into account what your main competition is doing & striving to be as good or better.
Measure success from inside a small “self bubble” or look to make a name on the big stage.
I don't disagree with you there but baseball must be kept a priority and held to a high standard. Fans support baseball at msu more than most schools and to ignore it for football is dumb. If you look at money percentages if we give more others will as well and we won't raise up much in the percentages and rankings as far as money in football.
