I hope Dowell got the clunker out of his system

For the first time this season, the play calling seemed really off. The offense hasn't been great this season, but much of that is attributable to the OL. I haven't had much of a beef with Dowell's play calling. Until last night. We had a few drives where it looked like we might be pulling out of our funk and we'd call a sweep or a reverse or something that was dead in its tracks. Just didn't seem to be great play calling last night. We also threw behind the sticks a lot. Everyone's entitled to an off day. Can't have one next week though.

We won in spite of the offense. That effort won't it on Saturday. You're incapable of seeing the bigger picture, which is fine. I know the type. "We won, so we can't think logically and rationally about anything."

If you don't care about what's necessary to beat Clemson, just come out with it.

I think what we saw was one player’s ability to completely wreck a game plan. Walker was unstoppable. Just couldn’t do anything with him.

I do think having to play that front the week before Clem is a good thing.

He was a beast and all over the place.

I watched North Carolina State lose by 20 to Duke and North Carolina State very next game they beat clemson. I have concerns about the offense, but every week is not the same.

No it's not, but Clemson's gonna be watching to see what UK did.

I am approaching this game with caution and doubt, but would not be surprised if South Carolina wins.
It certainly would not be anything like the scale of last year’s win if we do win. If I was forced to bet my next paycheck, I’d put it on Clemson. But it’s a winnable game.

He did Sellers just like Muschamp did Joyner. All the plays for him were running plays. He can pass so give him that option as well.

The one at the goal line was baffling to me. We were moving the ball fine on that drive and they knew with him under center it was going to be a run play. Then we got a holding on top him being stopped. Should have just keep running the offense as we were. Don't mess around in that situation.

I agree with the OP. The play calling in this game was an outlier. I have been happy with Dowell’s play calling particularly with the limitations created by a patchwork Oline.

Running the ball away from Walker should have become the obvious.

From what I seen the scheme was just giving us fits. They had zero fear of us running the ball from their linebackers. The Dline just ate up space and tackles and really just owned us. When a Dline is having that kind of success your LB's and DB's don't have much stress on them to react to the play action or run in general. It allowed them to run their zone stuff with no fear of a run.

We should all be thankful for Braswell for making that block for Spencer on that last TD
