If you could change any thing about college football, whether about the game, practice time, recruiting, etc..., what would you change?

We all had to sing "Don't Fear the Reaper" in unison led by Tom Cruise.

Dude, if I ever make it back to Starkvegas, I'm buying you a couple of drinks. I bet you are fun to shoot the **** with.

Thanks for kicking some of the doldrums out of the offseason.

This is definitely a Six Pack Remembers thread.

Some requested I start a thread for this so I figured I'd give it a whirl since I'm on my lunch break. Football or other, ask me anything.

White helmet or Maroon? That seems to be a subject quit often.

Obviously there were some pretty negative things with Mullen but what were some of the things you liked about the way he did things or were there any? With you seeming to have a negative experience with Mullen was it difficult for you and other players to talk to recruits and try to get them to come be a part of his program?

Have you talked to any current players and asked about the differences in how things are run with Moorhead compared to Mullen?

Are you pissed that they went to a water park

Not much honestly. I love college football. I rarely watch pro unless I'm following an old teammate or a State guy in general. I think the NCAA can be ridiculous about things but I also see both sides.

Can you ask DePasquale if he feels bad for costing me the last leg of an 8 team parlay at the Music City Bowl? Had us -6.5 and he decided that game was the best time to miss his first PAT of the season.

We'll be at quite a few games this year. Feel free to say hi if you see me. Go dawgs.

I'm a purist in this regard. Maroon helmet with the white facemask.

Do you know what most of the other team members wanted or it really didn't matter to them? I keep hearing all the different uniforms are for the recruits and not for us grey's.

While I do have a negative connotation towards Mullen, I'm of the belief that I wouldn't be where I am today without him. Whether he meant for it to turn out that way or not. All the stuff he put me through made me have more grit. I think during the times he tried to get me to quit, I came out stronger and stronger and it's carried over into normal life. I appreciated him having a team dinner annually at his house as well as a dinner for the seniors at his house.

I usually wasn't put in front of recruits. Probably for that reason. If I did converse with any recruit or recruits parents I was always professional and tried to be unbiased.

I haven't talked to any players. Sadly I don't know any of them anymore. I could probably reach out to some staff that are still there.

Nah. They all deserve a break here and there. I know how hard they're working.

Did you have any inkling of how special Dak would be back in 2011-13?
Yes. That dude came in as a natural leader as a freshman. I'll never forget this - we're all doing our winter workout outside one night. And it's a tough one. People throwing up. Etc. As an 18 year old Dak is already pushing and motivating everyone. He hasn't been there a full year yet. Everybody knew the guy was going to do some great things. Most freshman can't even keep up at that point. Not Dak.

It was a great honor to represent the dawgs. I appreciate that.

Honestly, what you saw was pretty much him.

From what I'm told, he had a control problem and would override/undermine a lot of what the D coordinator was trying to do. See Texas A&M 2012.

I coached two of your cousins (I think they're your cousins) - Wesley and Tyner. Who's your favorite? Which one hit a half court shot in a game?

It varied by player. I remember when we came out wearing black for the first time, all the guys really liked that though. 2010 maybe?

Yep 2nd cousins. I see them quite a bit. I'm guessing Tyner did. From what I've heard, he was a good basketball player.

I got pissed when Mullen benched you your senior season. You were a great punter. Thank you for what you did.

What music pumped you up the most?
I had a few songs I'd resort to. Some cliche. Some not.

Tusk - Fleetwood Mac (live version)
New Noise - Refused
Assistant to the Regional Manager - The Devil Wears Prada
Machine Head - Bush
Thunderstruck - AC/DC

I could've been your brother in law but she had absolutely zero interest in me whatsoever.

Do u think Don's style will be successful at UF? Will he challenge UGA in the east?

I'm not sure how many years it has been since I've been here, but this is the best thread I've ever seen.

I'm not dead. I heard rumors.

Lol I apologize.

It'll be interesting to see. I think to beat UGA year in and year out, he's going to have to have top 5 recruiting classes. The other thing is that I don't know is if the UF fan base will be patient enough if he doesn't win a natty after 3 years.

Great answer. It's wildly popular to bash Mullen on here and elsewhere, but it is hard to argue his success at MSU. Hate that it was personally rough on you, but you handled it in a way that made you better. Kudos. I faced a similar situation in high school, but I was better having stuck it out.

While its clear Dan wasn't the most chummy of sorts, that can afflict a lot of people. Saban is widely deemed an *******, but it works for him. Whatever his methods, we tended to have fewer knuckleheads on the team during that stretch than at other times when our coach seemed to have a "better" personality or was "doing it right" - whatever that means. In the end, Mullen is who he is. I can remember no other time when our penalties were consistently on the low end of the conference. He seemed to field a disciplined team. For a guy that couldn't recruit, we are loaded.

If we can have similar or even better success under a more likeable guy - even better.

I would have loved to have taken the field in an MSU uniform, so I'm happy you got that experience. Thanks for sharing.

I have respect for her and the way she carried herself and represented the university. The huncher can go 17 himself, though.

I concur. Been on here since damn near the beginning and have loved this thread. Your timing is impeccable. Been on a conference call the last 3 hours with lawyers in California. Office phone on mute, just hitting refresh, taking the phone off mute every twenty minutes or so and chiming in with an "uh huh".

Thanks for taking the time for this.

How much did the north end zone construction/completion affect wind dynamics at DWS?

Who was the biggest douchebag on another team you played against? The one guy if a meteor fell out of space and hit the stadium you hoped it squared that guy up.

I’m no expert but my experience was when I played in bowled stadiums, it usually encouraged the wind to swirl throughout. I had to be cognizant of that by watching the flags on top of the stadium as well as on top of the goal post. So yeah I think completed the north side contributes to some swirling now.

A coach that plays players based on relationships rather than merit at THE WORST. He will probably be Holloway's best man in his wedding.**

Has a punter ever become a decent sized section of a fan base's favorite player ever?

As of today-yes.

First one that comes to mind is Jonny Football. And the Auburn player that cheap shot me from behind after a punt. It was the 2012 game when we beat them at home. One of my last punts, the dude almost blocks it. He circles back and hits me from behind. Dude knocked my cleat off. Luckily, I rolled back up. Picked up my shoe and started walking towards him. Said a few niceties to get the conversation going. All of the sudden Devin Jones literally picks me up and carries me to the sideline. Looking back thank goodness for Devin or I probably would’ve joined the injuns.
