I say we burn Morrow's red shirt and play him against UGA...IF...

this team and this coaching staff takes itself seriously and wants to achieve its goals of winning the West. If they truly believe they can win it, then we need to because our WRs right now aren't getting anyseparation from the DBs of the other teams. We have no body we can just lob it up to in the red zone which is where we can't score. If he's good enough to go in and jump up or go grab a deep ball for a TD, I say play him.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

There is no pointing at burning a redshirt on any WR this year. We had at least 5 or 6 times last night where our WR had two steps on the DBs on deep routes and Relf didn't put it within 5 yards of any of them. Height is not the issue.

There were several completions last night that were only due to great catches by the backs or WRs.

We definitely have issues with WR not getting open and dropping passes, but we have just as big an issue with a QB that misses well over 50% of the time when the receivers do actually get behind the coverage.

I have no idea what Morrow will become, but if there is any potential for him to be good to great, I do not want to burn a year of eligibility on this season. One WR will not make up for all of the other issues on this team. We could have Julio Jones on this team and it would only make the difference in maybe one more W.

I watched Greg Childs play as a freshman at ARK and he looked like Morrow did on film in HS. If he gives us a better chance to win the game I would play him. Like I said we are not getting TDs in the endzone. If we have a WR who can get off the ball quick and go catch a TD and make a play, play him. I don't think we have a WR who can do that. Carr might can, but he hasn't done it yet.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

but if Morrow looks like Greg Childs in practice, our coaches would've had him on the field for Memphis.

like Childs was in Petrino's, he would definitely be playing. I'm pretty confident in Morrow's ability to be a big time WR....which we have NONE. All I'm saying is, if he can help us play him. Mullen already talked about it not too long ago. It's not that far fetched of an idea. He even said we've left 7 TDs on the field this season in the red zone. If we want any shot at beating UGA, S. Car, ARK, and to have a remote chance of beating Bama we have to score TDs in the red zone.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

reason to burn a guy's redshirt for such a limited purpose. We can use someone else for that and be effective.</p>

he would already be playing. We absolutely have no one with his size in the WR corps.

If we want any shot at beating UGA, S. Car, ARK, and to have a remote chance of beating Bama we have to score TDs in the red zone.

You are right. We also have to mix up our playcalling, figure out how to make our OL grow up in a hurry so we can get a push on running plays and protect Relf better when we pass. We have to figure out how to mask the glaring weakness that is our LB corps that is not effective at stopping the run, not effective in coverage, and not effective in getting to the QB. We have to figure out how to get our DL to pressure the QB, how to get our DEs to not get BMFAU on running plays, and how to get our DL to be effective in general against the run. We have to figure out how to restore Relf's confidence. We have to figure out to get Relf to put a pass within 5 yards of a WR when that WR does manage to get open more than 15 yards downfield. We have to figure out how to mask our complete inability to get the ball past the 10 yard line on kickoffs.

So, pardon me for not getting all hopeful that having a 6'4" true frosh WR that might be able to grab a jump ball in the endzone might help us win an extra game. I just don't see how having that one extra possibility is going to overcome the litany of issues currently facing this team. I still think we will manage to get to 6-6 or luck into 7-5, but I don't think Morrow would be the difference in guaranteeing that 7th win & giving us a shot at number 8.
