I think we’re going to learn a lot about this PSU team and Franklin this weekend.

Apologies for the long thread title.

I had this sudden urge to mimic ..
@StamfordBridgeVikingatLeftOffensiveTackle … and lost my sense of brevity.

That said, PSU seems to be regressing with each game. It’s incumbent on Franklin to demonstrate that he is a coach worthy of $8.5 million per annum.

The Terps might be really dangerous this weekend. They now have the dynamic duo…Gattis & Locksley.

I think we win easily, and the proof is 11/11

Maryland on D will mimic Indy, have 7-8 in the box with a shallow safety daring PSU to pass. Until PSU can develop a legitimate passing game you will see this defense in every game.

This is the right answer. Expect nothing but that defense from here on out.

Nip and tuck game decided late. Hope for no injuries. Glocksley will play up the SuperBowl angle to save his job. Yawn. Lions finally get some deep balls and some run plays going (fingers crossed) and the D will be looking to make something happen turnover wise. I think our D will play like sharks in a bloody pool.

Are you sure you aren’t Tyler from Spartanburg? Franklin is the third highest paid coach in the Big Ten so from a salty standpoint he isn’t overrated or underrated.

Defense coming back with a vengeance and something to prove this game. I am predicting 7 sacks at the minimum for us. Offense should see a run game improvement. Just my thoughts.

With all due respect, the issue isn’t we must rebound and beat Maryland.

Really? Franklin could lose out and still get his paycheck. In fact, he's getting 8x the figure you mentioned.....no matter what.
I wonder sometimes what exactly it is some "diehard" PSU fans think will happen. It's okay to not like the coach. It happens everywhere at all levels. But to think PSU is firing a coach with 4-11 win seasons in the past 7, along with 4 top ten finishes.....is simply insanity.
Maryland may match up very well with PSU. It could be interesting. James Franklin ain't going anywhere for the foreseeable future, unless he chooses to leave. Really nothing to argue.
I think we win easily, and the proof is 11/11
Some wish to prove their dislike for Franklin by assuming a loss will be the end of his tenure. It's sophomoric.

I think we can all agree this game, Rutgers, MSU etc are pretty meaningless. We lost to rdyOSU. We are regular in every way.
So no one will be upset if PSU loses out? Or if draft eligible players like Jacob's, Hardy and Lambert-Smith decide not to play in these meaningless games.

I doubt we learn anything. They are what they are. A great defense with an inept offense and decent special teams

Inept? Tied for #10 scoring offense in the nation. Perhaps not as explosive as some may have hoped for? For inept, see Iowa.

I think it’s fair to say the offense has some issues. However your premise that it’s ridiculous to claim it is “inept” is correct. Averaging just under 31 points per game exclusive of the Delaware and U Mass games.

A lot of people have been expecting PSU RBs to break out because they're due. The BTN announcers predicted multiple explosive plays from both Singleton and Allen vs Indy but it didn't happen. I think we are what we are.

The offense is not yet explosive and has been at times inconsistent. I just took issue with "inept."

Of course Franklin isn’t going anywhere, no other program wants him and his contract.

If you take a look at some of the more recent coaching deals, Franklin's is no longer outrageous, and surpassed by the like of Heupel, Stoops, and Kiffin. Happens as years pass. Wonder if Sexton will press for a renegotiation.

Defenses have been doing this since Glen Mason in the 90's, only our better QB's overcame 8 in the box, a test for Drew's accuracy and patience.

Perhaps Drew pulls the ball on an RPO and takes off around a wide open end for a big gain. He had that option dozens of times vs Indiana. Gotta make a team pay for loading the box.

Saw this also on Saturday. Made me wonder how a Daryl Clark or Michael Robinson at QB would have shredded Indiana's D with option runs for the majority of the game.

No other program wants him? Are you sure? You've personally surveyed the administrations of more than 130 universities and this is the result of your research ? Or, is it simply a butthurt fanboy lashing out in an attempt to justify your anguish and disappointment at being unable to add championship bling to your no doubt, sartorially respendlent wardrobe?

So we win 63-0 again and lay an egg vs Michigan? Does that help everyone. As long as we best Michigan I don’t care how we look!!

Don’t we say this every single year in late October and November and every single year we ask why can’t our offensive line hold or push them and why can’t our receivers get open.

Did you miss “wants him and his contract

No one is knocking on the door because he costs too much for whatever value he would add to their program.

Yeah, because a perennial 3-4 loss SEC team, e.g. Arkansas or A&M, would hate to pay for a great recruiter and overall program CEO that would likely get them to 10 or 11 wins consistently. Jibberish.

many are also Nebraska fans circa 2005 - fire Solich who then goes on to be the greatest coach in MAC history.

Equally silly comment. If he goes elsewhere, his contract doesn't follow him. This isn't a trade situation in MLB. Also, the sobbing about Franklin's contract is a bit strange. So the 😢 would stop and they'd support him if if he made 5 million? LOL
The for what "we" pay him argument is asinine. I have not given him a penny.
He's not in the top 10 compensated coaches.
Don't like him? Fine. Silly adolescent comments are just
the equivalent of holding your breath and stomping your feet.
I look forward to the fanboy histrionics for 8 more years. Cheer up 50% of all college football teams lose every week. Hope springs eternal.
