I realized they wouldn't fit my feet are bigger. But seriously, I was contemplating if he is toying with Everyone by having the Jets fly to see him today. It creates the Brett Favre buzz plus other ideas. All sports radio channels are touching on this one way or another. It must be fun to be in that position for a time being.

He's a Diva, No?

However, it led me to thinking deeper. If I could be any athlete growing up, who would it be? Who would you be?
I would have to say Muhammad ALI. Thought about being Jordan, but ALI simply because he was / is the Greatest.

Shalom

Happy Purim

No chance on Ali for me. Getting punched repeatedly (and in his case, purposefully) is not in my DNA.
I’d go with Bryan Trottier.

Easy ... Jordan. Guy was a cultural icon. Arguably the best ever. Won a ton of titles. Even got to play some pro baseball.

And he didn't have to get his brains beat in and suffer from Parkinson's starting in his 30's.

Bill Carpenter.
Who?
Bill Carpenter. He played football at Army and rose to fame as the "Lonesome End". He didn't huddle with the other players but lined up near the sideline. As a kid I thought that was the coolest thing ever. He was team captain, an All American, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He then went on to serve in Vietnam, won a Silver Star, and then won the Distinguished Service Cross (second only to the Medal of Honor for valor). He retired as a Lieutenant General (3 stars) and is still alive, living in Montana.

The "Lonesome End".

The reason I write Ali. It isn't about the punishment / damage he received during the Course of his life. It wasn't about money either or I would choose Jordon. It was his strong belief in humanity and love and offering his voice for injustice everywhere, As Joe Pa's Father encouraged. Make a difference.

Shalom

I think you could do all that without being a star athlete though, couldn’t you? Maybe not on such a grand scale, but it’s available for everybody.

Wasn't ALI a friend of Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam? I think he severed ties at some point though

Ali was a member of the Nation of Islam. His most influential spiritual advisors were Elijah Muhammad (THEM), the founder of NOI, and Malcolm X, until THEM threw him out.

After the death of Elijah Muhammad, NOI spilt into two groups. One, led Louis Farrakhan, adhered to the teachings of THEM. The other, led by THEM's son, Wallace D. Muhammad, hewed more closely to traditional Islam and repudiated those elements of NOI that were un-Islamic. Ali followed Wallace D. and his belief system ultimately moved evolved into more conventional Sufi and Sunni practices.

Mr. Potter,
By the description of your feet size, my guess is you'll need a little extra over the size of Rodger's condoms!
YIKES, the circumference of a silver dollar is about 3 1/4". You are huge in my book, Mr. Potter.
Just wondering, does Mrs. Potter seem to have frequent headaches?
