...but the Bulldog has always been our mascot. For his entire career, Lindsey Nelson referred to us as The Maroons.

Delta State could beat La. Tech.
Seriously? A Div. II team with 45 or so scholarships could beat a Div. I-A team with 85 scholarships? And if you think LA Tech's stadium looks small.....

Do you think you would be getting private donations for facility expansions if you were in the Sunbelt or MAC???
Yes - we would. Middle Tennessee has raised revenue through ticket sales and donations to build a new athletic HOF, new baseball stadium, and they are adding a jumbotron to the Floyd stadium. FAU is building a new stadium, in part through public funds, but also through the selling of suites and donations. Western Kentucky will have a stadium ten times that of what you have due to donations as they make the jump to D-Ia. Troy has a small, but nice football stadium due to selling the naming rights and large donations from Movie Gallery.

<font color="#FF0033">Don't talk about the Sun Belt like you are better than them.</font> You couldn't win the Belt in football, you couldn't win it in men's basketball, you couldn't win the Belt in baseball, and now even your women's basketball team couldn't win it. It really is pathetic that fans of a bottom feeding school in a conference with a bunch of Sun Belt rejects (NMSU, Idaho, and Utah St) use the SB as an example of futility when, in fact, many Belt programs have passed you by and there is nothing you can do about it.
Stop being an idiot. Go back and read the post. I compared the SEC with the Sunbelt and MAC. I didn't compare Tech or the WAC to the Sunbelt. I didn't rip MTSU, and I didn't rip the Sunbelt. And I am correct, those improvements you mentioned are nothing compared to what goes on in the SEC. So what if you are getting a jumbotron? Is it the biggest jumbotron in the SEC?? That's the point. If you think MSU would have the same facilities if they were in the Sunbelt or MAC you need to share some of what you are smoking with the rest of us.

And as far as the Sunbelt reject comments goes, those schools acceptted invitations from and joined the WAC. They left the Sunbelt, they weren't kicked out of the Sunbelt. They chose the WAC over the Sunbelt. So that arguement doesn't fly.

They chose the WAC over the Sunbelt
Why did they do this? Does the increased revenue (I'm guessing) from the higher profile conference make up for the travel issues, which have to be huge.

When Tech entered the WAC, there was a real eastern component. Rice, SMU, UTEP, and Tulsa were also in the WAC when Tech joined. Since they left, the geography is obviously out of WAC, but the revenue minus travel expenses still makes the WAC a better deal financially.
