of days and how Foley is going to handle this . I think his first plan of action is to call Bob Stoops to gauge his interests. If your Foley, you have to start here . He has the Florida connection and has won a national title . He will give Stoops 24-48 hours to see if he does want to pursue the HC position . If Stoops does not want the job you call Kyle Whittingham and Dan Mullen . You interview both and decide between the two. Yes , both of them will take the job if offered. So, if your math is correct there is a 1 in 3 chance , or 33% chance Dan Mullen will leave . Book it .

for anywhere but Gainesville. And at the same time, UF would be the only upper echelon job that he'd get offered. His connection to their success and their system is the only reason he'll be considered for UF. He doesn't have that anywhere else.

I tend to agree with you. But it is in the back of my mind what would happen if enough dominoes fall to where a job that is not elite, but has more prestige and history than State does may come calling. For instance if Stoops leaves OU, that could create a tidal wave of movement where several schools may end up looking for a new coach. Im not saying OU would want Dan the Man, but maybe the school who lost their coach to OU would. The coaching carousel is always interesting to say the least. In the end, I agree with you that if he doesnt leave for Florida he probably wont leave.

I don't know if he grew up for cheering for any team up north but besides Florida I don't think he would leave unless it was for somewhere up north and that is a little out there.

the only job that would come open for Mullen which would be a step up would be the Florida job. As long as Florida picks someone not named Dan Mullen, we are in the clear.</p>
