It would make sense to swap SC and Clemson in rankings but would that actually set Bama to move to 12? That would actually be insane. Beating a top 12 team wouldn’t mean nothing if that’s the case.

What about the intangibles, like momentum, by the ''hottest team in America''.

I understand. I just try to imagine if the shoe was on the other foot, and we had the head to head over Bama.

Would we accept them claiming "intangibles" and getting in over us?

I am convinced the committee is setting this up to get three ACC schools in if at all possible... that is if Clemson gets by us. It's the reason Clemson jumped both Ole Miss and Bama with a (wait for it) Citadel win. They have no desire to pick a regular season three loss team with an at-large bid. None whatsoever. If you ask me, we beat Clemson, we deserve a spot simply by beating the team the committee ranked ahead of the other three loss teams but I highly doubt the committee will look at it that way.

Could any of those 3 ACC teams beat the SEC teams they would leap over?
Is the committee on a mission to save the ACC?

If i had to guess, they just want to avoid picking one of a handful of three loss SEC teams and Clemson is the team in the right place at the right time to make that happen. They have no other option. No Big 12, already too many Big 10s. It's ACC or do what they really dont want to do... that is probably pick Bama over us and Ole Miss.

I don’t see them forgoing the head to heads.
I understand that, but we also smoked teams that beat them, and they've fallen off while we are rising. I'm just hoping we lay it on Clemson really thick and let things fall where they may... If we win by 17 pts or so, they'll put us in imo.

It wasn't that they beat Citadel. It was because their record was better.

If that's the case, I find it odd that Arizona St, with three wins over ranked opponents and an identical record as clemson didnt jump Ole Miss or Bama. They certainly have the record to do it. Odd indeed considering Clemson has no wins over ranked opponents and fresh off a win of the Citadel as opposed to ASU's fresh win over a top 20 BYU.
