If White is let go at season’s end who would you like to see as DC?

b/c he's afraid to pull the trigger on an assistant.

I can't imagine it's an easy conversation to have, but I think our defensive number so far this season make it pretty much a no-brainer for White and Gray. I mean, we are next to dead last in the nation in passing yards allowed. 132 out of 133 teams.

There are plenty of guys that know defense that aren't scumbags. No thanks.

I just want to win. It's not a personality contest. Give me the best defensive mind we can get. I don't care two hoots about anything else.

We made a similar decision when looking for Fogler's replacement. We could have had a proven winner with Bobby Knight, but we went with nice guy NIT Dave.

More than the stats, teams have just figured him out. He's getting his *** handed to him by OCs. Teams have figured out they can easily move guys around to create mismatches (Pearsall vs Nick E) and White won't adjust. Graham Mertz was calling out every single blitz we threw at him pre snap. When stuff like that happens, you're cooked. The #1 job of a coach is to put whatever players you have in the best position to win. White is falling woefully short of that standard.

It's not a personality contest. If we were hit with the kind of violations UT was it would cripple us. This would be dumber than RT hiring Muschamp thinking he's learned what not to do at UF.

Assistants don't have the power like the head coach does to commit those kinds of violations.

Obviously, we're not going to hire him, and I'm not advocating for it. But if he were the best option, that's all I want. Whoever is best at the job.

OK, putting that aside. He's coached defense at Bama, FSU, & UGA. We've been there, done that. I don't want a silver spoons coach. Give me the guy that's grinded at lower levels. to work his way up. The more I read and think about Chris Hampton, the more I'm convinced he should be the guy.
