If you had to choose. Ki-Jana or Saquon?

It’s a tough call but if forced to pick, I guess I’d go with Barkley. Carter ran behind a phenomenal line. Barkley had to make his own space a lot of times.

What about LJ in 2002 ?
I could have thrown that in there. But I didn't because then I would have to include, a lot Kinlaw's awesome year, Enis, etc. etc. etc. Now that might not be fair. I acknowledge. I just listed it between these two.

Im only in my 20s, but how can you not say Barkley to this question by how bad the offensive line was? I think people forget how miserably bad it was

Barkley just because he was the more complete player. Carter did not have his receiving skills.

However, I wouldn't take anything away from Carter just because he played behind better offensive lines. I don't know how many other backs had his combination of speed and power. He was like Singleton and Allen rolled into one.

Ki-Jana's OL >>>>>>> Saquon's OL. It would have been interesting to watch Saquon run behind that 1994 OL.
Not sure that is totally accurate.....Bates, McGovern, Walker, Fries all played NFL...plus Menet, Scruggs, Effner, Gonzales, Holmes, Miranda, Thorpe and others shows Saquon had some talent to run behind also...the problem was the mess point fiasco. Different schemes....Both incredible talents.

Tough choice. Saquon was easily the better receiver. However, I believe Ki-Jana Carter was the better runner because he was more physical and tougher for opposing teams to tackle. I still get goose bumps every time I watch Ki-Jana smoke Oregon for an 83 yard TD on the first PSU offensive play of the 1995 Rose Bowl.

If you ever want to see what coaches mean when they talk about a runner “making himself small” at the point of contact, please watch a highlight film of KJC. Nobody was better at making people miss and squeezing through holes that didn’t look like they were there (and may not have been). Both are/were phenomenal, but I give the slightest edge to Carter.

Tough choice. I wonder how Carter would do in todays game and offenses. Can we start both in the same backfield?

Saw both play and Barkley, hands down. Every time he touched the ball, I felt he could take it to the house. A generational player for sure...

Yep, as I remember Carter broke more tackles, and pretty much ran right through would be tacklers at times.

Barkley with Ki-Jana's line and we would never had thrown a pass and Saquon would have the highest YPC in the history of college football.
Actually he wouldn’t have because he would have sat most of all second half’s just like Carter did.
