We all understand a monarchy is not the way to go, but Harry & Megan are still receiving benefits (financially & otherwise) while continuing to trash Harry's family. Phony anger while being partially subsidized by King Charles. If Harry & Megan really disagree with the monarchy then completely severe your ties and get on with your new life. To do otherwise is absolutely hypocritical.

Charles? It’s the people of England subsidizing all of them. Harry - like the others - is entitled to certain benefits by birth and isn’t equipped or in a position to do a whole lot more than he is. He has a family to care and provide for. I’m not saying he’s a big hero or anything but Charles is a twit and I think Harry is more upset with him than the actual monarchy.
You are wrong. There are numerous real estate holdings, art, Jewelry, large sums of money that are the sole property of the Windsor family. Harry is paid out of a fund that the King controls. Yes, the monarchy does receive $ through parliament for employees that serve the monarchy, upkeep of the palaces, security, travel, etc. It is kind of a quid-pro-quo system where the U.K. gov't benefits from the tourist dollars generated through the monarchy. The Brits have chosen that system.
Exactly Rickster. A monarchy seems repulsive to many of us, but it has been the British way for centuries and it is an integral part of who they are as a people. For the most part, the institution has served them well, at least for most of the past century. If that is the system they want, it's their call.

Not nearly as simple as you describe. The Brit’s way has been much more stable than the French. Great Britain is very supportive of the monarchy. It serves and serves a purpose.
Yeah he doesn’t want the fame and notoriety of being a Royal but he is in fact trading 100% off of that - total phony. I do give him credit for serving in the military which is about the only useful thing he has ever done.

Well if someone or some entity gave “most” of us here a $6mm severance package I believe that “most” of us would have the good sense to refrain from making derogatory comments about our benefactor. Actually I’ll still disagree yet accept that they and in particular her received prior racist comments. The lump sum payment was essentially a bribe. The Royal family, unless they’re more inbred and stupid than I believe they are, were probably convinced that Harry would be a good soldier and toe the line. No one pays a ball buster money to facilitate continued ball busting unless they’re complete idiots. So assume from that what you may.
I’ll even play fly on the wall and surmise that Harry was cool with it. He just was probably too naive to understand the anger of a woman scorned. Also in fairness she was dragged thru the mud.
