I'm 48 years old. Do you think PSU will win a CFB Championship if I live another 40 years?

Ask Dan Marino. He gets to a Super Bowl in second season and figures more good times ahead and he never got back.

It is incredibly hard to win championships. It becomes doubly so in CFB as the only way to "earn" your spot is to go undefeated and you still have to be selected.
Ask Barry Sanders what a Super Bowl Is?

I am 73. Yes, we made the Play Off this year. I am still worried that I won't see Penn State win a Natty (again...see 82 and 86) before the big guy upstairs comes calling.

I was once told to lower my expectations...I'm still at that lower level.
Well seeing how Pitt hasn't won a major bowl game or finished in the top 10 of any season since 1982 which was more than 40 seasons ago, Pitt fans would be wise to lower their expectations.

I’m here for the long haul. I know Georgetown will never again win a championship but I still got that one memory. It’s more about the path than the destination.

That's because Marino choked in big games. In the regular season, he was good enough to beat the '85 Bears. In the post-season, he couldn't beat the '85 Patriots - at home in Miami. He never won a ring at any level, even at Central Catholic, but the Marino fanboys have excuses for him.

Damn, what a brutal takedown. I guess it’s easy to write like this when the statistics are what they are. Thanks for posting this.

I truly thought this was the year we would make the playoffs. I understand the bad breaks the team has incurred this season but something seems amiss. I judt van't pinpoint what that is.
Yes.

I am 64.
I hold out hope every year but in my heart I know there are many obstacles and variables tugging in the opposite direction, most notably this corrupt conference that fawns over the chosen two.

Joe told PSU fans to lower their expectations around 18 years ago. Should have listened!
This is BS. Joe said that fans need to lower their expectations about the 2000 season, nothing more or less. Joe knew the team wouldn't be good in 2000, but everyone was hyping it up, especially the media. Since then, a few dipshats like to disparage Joe for some unknown reason.

You saw '94, too. And 1969 for that matter. We had every right to claim those as anyone.
I'll be the human pinata: Why not this year? 4 more wins...could happen. We need to avoid injury issues, but we are right there in the thick of it and there is no team that looks unbeatable. Our QB is good, our offensive line is good. Our receivers might surprise...... I will say it again: Why not this year?

So 2005 we would have been left out even if undefeated and 2008 we were oh so close for playing for it all. Would have won as well cause that psu and that usc team were better than fl or ok.

So this year we have a real chance. Would love to see allar realize his potential and lead this team to a natty. We have as Easy a path as any team will ever have. I will
